Things had gotten messy. While I was on house arrest, Elena, Stefan and his best friend, Lexi went to the Grill for his birthday; let's just say it didn't end very well in Lexi's case.
I didn't blame Stefan for not coming into school today. Damon had killed Lexi to prove himself to the weird secret society that is the Town Council. I don't know how Stefan's put up with Damon for the past however many years. It's seriously impressive.
When I got to school after being off for a few days, I wished that I had faked my injury more - because it was just a reminder of how much I loathed school.
But, there was a positive. We were being introduced to our new history teacher, as the last one we had - Mr. Tanner - was another one of Damon's victims. Shocker.
Elena and I quickly walked into the classroom and took our seats as the bell rang. Bonnie hurried in and was followed by a tall, brown haired man with a purple shirt. He definitely was the best looking teacher I've ever seen.
"Good morning everyone." He shouted as he walked over to his desk. He turned his back to us and picked up a chalk. "Alrighty." He started writing what I presumed was his name on the black board in capital letter. He put the chalk down and clapped his hands together, facing us. "Alaric Saltzman. It's a mouthful, I know. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Saltzman is of German origins. My family emigrated here in 1755 to Texas. I, however, was born and raised in Boston. Now the name Alaric belongs to a very dead great-grandfather I will never be able to thank enough. You'll probably want to pronounce 'Alaric' but it's 'Alaric', okay? So, you can call me Rick. I'm your new history teacher."
Hmmm, maybe history wasn't going to be that bad this year.

During lunch, Elena and I were sat with a very shaken up Bonnie.
"And then, I ended up at the remains of the old Fell's church before I woke up back in the woods." Bonnie explained her weird dream that she had last night.
"And you always see your ancestor Emily?" Elena asked.
"Do you believe in ghosts?"
"Two weeks ago I'd say no, but now..." Elena started but Bonnie interrupted.
"Because I think I'm being haunted." Bonnie said worriedly.
"Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters." I sang but received disapproving looks from Bonnie and Elena. "No. Okay." I sighed and put my head down.
"I don't get it. Why Emily?" Elena wondered.
"Grams said she was a powerful witch back in the Civil War days, and that this medallion was hers. A witch's talisman." Bonnie said holding onto a ugly yellow necklace.
"And it all started when you got the necklace?" Elena questioned, pointed at the jewelry around Bonnie's neck.
"I think she's using it to communicate with me." Bonnie replied with her eyebrows furrowed.
"Okay, what does Grams say about it?" Elena queried.
"I can't call her. She's gonna tell me to embrace it. I don't want to embrace it, I want it to stop."
"Well, if it all started with that ugly necklace, why don't you just take it off. I mean that's how Ron Weasley stopped being an asshole to Harry and Hermione because he took off the necklace." I suggested but once again my input was disapproved.

Everyone went off in their different directions. Caroline went to find Matt, Elena went to talk to Stefan and Bonnie was going to her car. I looked around for Tyler but I couldn't find him anywhere. As I was heading back to the parking lot I saw Bonnie and Damon talking. I waited for them to stop so I could speak to Damon.
