I held the vampire compass in one hand and my phone in the other, waiting for Damon to arrive with the phone on speaker, awaiting further instructions from the pain in the ass himself.

"What do I do now?" I sighed into the phone, my patience running thin as I absentmindley paced up and down the vacant parking lot.

"Just wait. I'll be there in minute." He replied from the other line.

"Can you hurry up. I thought you had super human speed."

"I do." I heard a familiar voice say from behind me, making me jump; I could already tell that he'd have his stupid signature smirk on his face even before I turned to face him. "You can give me that."

I turned around and glared at him for scaring me which only enhanced his smirk that I predicted was on his face.

"So why did you need me to do this?" I questioned, handing over the golden compass.

"Because I interfere with the signal." He didn't look up from the compass which was now spinning like crazy in his hand.

"Why are we here?" I looked around at my surroundings; we were stood at the back of a warehouse.

"Do you ever stop asking questions?" I rolled my eyes at his statement and asked the same question for a second time, hoping for an actual answer.

"There's another vampire in town and I need to find out who it is and so I can kill them." He looked up at me with a lop sided smile on his face when he mentioned he was here to kill somebody. "You can go now."

"Nah, I'm good." I shrugged and began walking towards the door to the warehouse.

"You're not going in there." He sang, not bothering to move.

"Watch me." I called back and twisted the door handle but it was locked. I sighed out in frustration as Damon sauntered up the steps.

"Move." He ordered and I stepped back, letting him do the honors of breaking the handle. "Now, stay here."

"I'm coming with you. You can't stop me." I smiled and tilted my head, crossing my arms.

"Do I have to remind you that you're human and the thing inside can eat you." He pointed in the direction of the dark interior of the warehouse. "You have nothing to protect yourself with."

"I have you and - " I unzipped my jacket and got out a wooden stake that I had hidden. "I have this." I smiled at him again and waved the stake in front of his face.

"Do you even know how to use that thing?" He asked, amused.

"It can't be that difficult." I shrugged.

He looked at me with furrowed brows, I could tell that he was weighing the pros and cons of me coming with him. After a while of him thinking he sighed. "If you die I'm not taking the blame for it."

"Fair enough." I pushed him inside the warehouse and closed the door behind me when I entered.

"You know, purple's really not your color. You look like a Dad in that shirt." I whispered, looking at the shirt he was wearing.

He turned and glared at me. "Shut up." He hissed and began to walk again.

We walked into a clearing and Damon looked both ways like he was about to cross the road.

"Keep walking, grandma."

It wasn't long before there were lots of gun shots and Damon was groaning out in pain, falling to his knees.
