"I'll see you tomorrow." I smiled to Damon as I departed from his car. He gave me a quick wink before driving away.

With a slight spring in my step I approached the front door, however, as I lifted my gaze from the floor I was met by a woman with long brown hair standing at the entrance with Jenna and Elena stood on the other side.

The look Elena gave me made my stomach fall as I realised who the woman was.

"Ah, Lily. Just in time." Isobel's sickly voice said, her rat face producing a smug smile. "I need to talk to you and your sister but she's being rather difficult, so would you please be a good daughter and invite your mother inside." She cooed.

I gave her the cold shoulder and slammed the door closed. I couldn't be dealing with her.

"You knew she was still alive?" Jenna spoke up, her voice shaking with tears in her eyes and betrayal written all over her face. "Ric? John? Did they know?"

"We can explain everything, Jenna." Elena tried to calm her but it only made things worse.

"No."

"No. Jenna, please." But Jenna couldn't take it. She ran upstairs and locked herself in her room leaving Elena and I in a state of shock.

If she reacted like this over just Isobel, I dreaded to think what was going to happen when we come clean with everything else.

._.

Jenna didn't speak to us the next day, instead she chose to leave for her college campus where she was going to be staying for the time being.

I couldn't stand the feeling that was eating me up from the inside. Jenna hated us. She did. And it was all our fault.

After everything she'd done for us: leaving school to come look after us, helping us grieve while she was doing the same, making sure we had enough food and clothes, helping us with homework - all of this while she was meant to be living her own life.

And now we've managed to push her away, all because of that one little spiralling lie that we've been keeping from her.

I don't know about Elena but I hated myself too.

Why did things have to get so complicated.

"Are we boring you?" Isobel asked in her annoying voice as she broke me from my daydream.

Oh yeah, and on top of all these things, John thought it'd be a fantastic idea to invite the ugly rat into our house. Yay family reunion.

"Yes." I replied bluntly, not moving my gaze from the window.

"Lily, she has information about Klaus. Please, just listen to her, okay?" John pleaded, the sincerity and concern in his voice not matching the mouth it was coming out of at all. Since when did he care?

To show I'd heard him and was sort of willing to listen, I turned to face Isobel who took that as her queue to begin. "Since I was last here, I've been doing everything possible to find Klaus. We knew our best chance was to find him before he could find you."

"Best chance at what?" Stefan voiced all our thoughts.

"Keeping them alive."

"Were you able to find Klaus?"

"No. Nobody knows where he is but there are these rumours that are flying around. That not just one, but two doppelgängers exist." Nice to know Elena and I are top gossip in the vampire community.
