The ticking of the grandfather's clock travelled up the stairs and through the walls to my ears.

Tick tock, tick tock.

I struggled to sleep. My mind was too busy.

Tick tock, tick tock.

The sound was repetitive and irritating but it was mostly blocked out by the thoughts whizzing through my head.

Tick tock, tick tock.

After coming home from my trip to Richmond, I was pulled into Elena's room where she relayed her time spent with Katherine.

Apparently, to break the curse, Klaus must sacrifice a Petrova Doppelgänger by draining them of their blood.

But get this, because there's two doppelgängers - which has only ever happened once in history - one of us is just an extra power boost. He only needs one of us; but judging by the sounds of him, he'll want us both.

Tick tock, tick tock.

The reason he must drain the blood from a Petrova doppelgänger is due to the fact the spell is bound to our blood. Hence the reason he wanted Katherine.

Turns out, Rose and Trevor took her in as she ran from Klaus only for Katherine to kill herself with vampire blood in her system so he couldn't use her.

She's been on the run ever since.

Tick tock, tick tock.

The reason she came back was to help Klaus succeed in breaking the curse in order to gain her freedom.

She had most of the ingredients.

The moonstone - thanks to Mason.

A Petrova doppelgänger - well two.

A vampire - Caroline.

And now a werewolf - Tyler, who had just triggered his beast side.

The only thing she needed was a witch; and I'm sure she could rope Bonnie into this mess as well.

Tick tock, tick tock.

The sound of something falling pulled me out of my trance and I was instantly on high alert.

I grabbed my baseball bat from under my bed and quietly walked out of my bedroom - the bat in a in position ready to be swung if needs be.

What I saw next was the complete opposite of what I was expecting.

"Lily. Hi." Alaric said sheepishly as he tried to cover up his half naked body with his bowl of ice cream.

"Um, hi?" I replied back just as awkwardly and lowered the bat.

Jenna appeared up the stairs in what I assumed was Alaric's shirt and stopped dead in her tracks next to him.

"We're sorry for being loud." She apologized.

"We didn't think anyone was up." Alaric added.

"But here you are."

"We we're just..." He started, trying to come with an excuse but failed miserably. He sighed and held out the bowl of ice cream. "Chunky Monkey?"

I shook my head politely, trying my hardest to avoid eye contact with him.

"Well.." He chuckled. "I'm naked. So I'm gonna go." He speed walked into Jenna's room and quickly shut the door behind him.

"I'm really really sorry." Jenna apologized again.

"It's fine, Jenna. Go have your fun."

"I know he's been staying over a lot. Are you --- are you sure it's okay?"
