The next day a lawyer had been sent over to the Boarding House to officiate the documents to the house; he kept blabbing on about all the useless terms and conditions that we didn't care about until he finally told us where to sign.
"Please sign here and here." He instructed and pointed at the different places we had to sign our signature.
"Okay." Elena nodded and picked up the pen before handing it over to me after she finished.
"So this place is all yours? They just gave it to you?" Bonnie asked us in surprise as she looked at us skeptically.
"For now. As joint owners, we're the only ones who can invite a certain type of person in here, if you know what I mean." Elena filled her in, trying to not give away too much information due to the fact the lawyer was sitting opposite us.
"Your own personal safe house." She nodded in approval.
"That's the idea."
"You wouldn't want to clean it." Bonnie grimaced as she looked around the living room. Elena and I laughed in response - no you definitely wouldn't want to clean it.
Once everything was sorted and finalised we walked the lawyer to the door.
"Thank you, Mr. Henry." I said politely as he walked away.
Once he was out of sight, Damon and Stefan approached the house but were unable to enter due to the threshold.
"I'm sorry. I completely forgot." Elena laughed and then looked at Stefan. "Stefan. Would you like to come inside our house?"
"I would love to. Thank you." He smiled sweetly at her before entering his house.
Damon was looking at me expectantly but I wasn't going to waste this perfect opportunity to annoy him.
"What are we, twelve?"
"One of us is." I shrugged. "Oh hey is that John Gilbert?" I pointed and pretended to look behind Damon who instinctively turned to look as well. When he turned back to face me with a confused look I took that moment to close the door in his face.
Elena and I were in hysterics at Damon's expression just before I shut the door and the thought of how fed up and agitated he'd be right now made it even more hilarious. Even Stefan was managing to have a little chuckle with us.
"This isn't funny!" We heard Damon yell from the other side which made us all laugh harder.
This was the longest I'd laughed in ages and it was amazing. It was one of them times when you'd laugh harder if you looked at the other person. It was just class.
"No we don't have time to talk about the crippling economy, come back later." I shouted back which gained a heavy thud against the door that made it shake. At this rate he'd be punching the door down.
Reluctantly I opened the door to see a fuming Damon Salvatore - if it was possible there would be steam erupting from his ears.
"Mr. Salvatore, what a pleasant surprise."
"Lily I swe—" He began before I interrupted him.
"You may come in." I announced and stepped aside.
He shut his mouth quickly and stormed inside. "Shut up." He muttered to Stefan who was enjoying this a little too much for his liking.
Bonnie walked over to us bearing three school bags and Elena's jacket, handing each item to the respectable person.
