"Wassup my second favorite Salvatore." I announced my arrival as I entered the living room of the Boarding House where Damon was sat on the sofa drinking a glass of bourbon.
He turned around with a fake hurt expression, "Wow, shady."
I shrugged nonchalantly and plopped down next to him, making myself at home.
"Shouldn't you be with your sister or something."
"Matt's with her. I can't stand being in that depressing environment, it's exhausting."
"So you decided to come here and annoy me?"
"Yep." I replied happily and sat up. "I also kinda need a date to the Masquerade ball tonight." I said quietly and awkwardly rubbed the back of my neck.
"Oh, so you're using me now."
"You were gonna ask me anyway." I defended, my voice turning a few pitches higher.
"That's bold of you to assume."
"Is it really?" I gave him a knowing look.
He rolled his eyes but his lips quirked up into a small smile.
"Lily Gilbert, will you accompany me to the ball tonight, seeing as you are my second favorite Gilbert?"
"Depends... whose your favorite?"
"John, of course." He said in a 'duh' tone.
"Oh, of course. Well in that case, I'd love to accompany you to the ball."
I held up my hand for a fist pump but he completely ignored it, instead he opted to get up and refill his glass. Rude.
And that's when I remembered a small 'insignificant' detail a little birdie told me yesterday.
I cleared my throat to gain Damon's attention before crossing my legs and leaning back into the seat - my arms spread out on the top of the sofa.
He looked at me expectantly and when I didn't say anything he grew agitated. "What?"
"Nothing, nothing." I shook him off with my hand. "It's just... I'm trying to figure out where in this house you decided to kill Mason Lockwood after I told you not to." I said so calmly it made him freeze up. "I'm stuck between the basement and the parlor."
I rubbed my non existent beard while I watched him stumble over his words.
"Well I mean, come on, it was Mason Lockwood. He..." He was a stuttering mess so I decided to cut him off to save himself from the embarrassment.
"I don't want to hear about it." I sighed. "I just want you to know that you broke a promise so you owe me. Big time."
"Got it."
As Damon refilled his glass for the fourth time, a certain new vampire appeared at the front door after we heard a knock.
I didn't even know Caroline was here.
"Hey, come on in." She chirped as she opened the door. I craned my neck to see who it was and saw it was Bonnie.
"I got Stefan's message." She replied.
I watched as the scene around us unfolded and soon enough the whole gang bang was here, bar Elena.
"What is going on?!" I muttered under my breath as I came to a stand and walked over to the commotion of people - Bonnie was wearing the same confused expression so I guessed we were both as clueless as each other.
