We reached France and it was around 11pm over here. I was tired from the flight but I know I will be up in the night because of jet lag. I didn't know how I would explain to their family that I was not going to do the wedding their way. It was my big day not theirs, deep down I knew this family wasn't perfect. No family was perfect, there was always something up and this is what it was. They were controlling when it came down to big days.
We reached their home and went inside
"We are home" Stefan said
I was not happy to be here because I know it is going to lead to a fight but I had to pretend I was happy
"I missed you guys" Mrs. Aveline said
She pulled us into a group hug
"How are you darling?' She asked
"Great Rebecca, how about you?" I asked
"Good as well. Come on now, you guys must be tired and hungry from the flight" She said
We put down the luggage and I took Bear out of his travel bag.
"Hey I will be right back, I am going to walk Bear and Rocky" I said to Stefan
"Here I will come with you" He replied
"No it is fine, go see your mom. I will be quick" I said
I put on the leashes and went outside. I grabbed my phone and started calling Jenna, I need to talk to her.
"Hello" she said
"Hey" I replied
"Hey Stassie, how have you been?" She asked
"Stressed out from the wedding" I said
"Why, what happened?" She asked
"Basically apparently it is a tradition for Stefan's parents to take care of the wedding. They choose the caterers the decorations the flower, the venue literally everything. Like the fuck, it is my wedding no theirs. I discussed this with Stefan and he is like my whole family has done it and now I am going to be the one who breaks the tradition. I mean I don't care because it is my wedding and in the first place I didn't even want to do in France, but because of Stefan and the stupid tradition I have to. I mean don't get me wrong I love the venue it is pretty and everything but I rather have it where my home is. My home is in New York and that is where my family is at. I am just so annoyed and I don't even want to have a wedding if it isn't the way I want it" I said
"What the fuck, they can't dictate your wedding. Stassie is your wedding not theirs, don't let them make decisions for you. Send me the address, I'll come over and settle this because you are getting your dream wedding. I know how much you want this because the amount of times you have talked about this with me in highschool, you will never let it go" She replied
"Please come, I don't think I will be able to handle a month here alone" I said
"A month" she asked in shock
"Yes, we are doing wedding preparations here. Oh my god I can't believe I forgot" I said
"What?" She asked
"The wedding dress, I don't have any of my bridesmaids here. I mean I have Julia and I am asking Amelia and Jessica because it is a nice thing to do but I don't have an outsiders opinion. Can you please come, I can't do this alone right now" I said
"Stassie I have work still" She replied
"When are you off?" I asked
"December 14" She replied
