Driving with Elijah and Ella was a struggle. They kept crying and if one kid cried the other started. It was going to be hard at night because knowing that one kid will cry the other will be up.
After a drive that felt like hours we reached home. I unclicked the car seats and I took Elijah while Stefan took Ella.
"I need to feed these two" I said
"I will make us some food" he replied
I sat down on the couch and fed the babies. It was a lot harder to feed two kids than just one. I put them down for their nap but it took so long because one baby would cry and then the other would cry but I finally got them to fall asleep.
"This is going to be hell" I said
"They wouldn't sleep?" He asked
"Nope" I said
"Well, eat quickly before they wake up again" he replied
"You're getting them, it's my birthday and I'm on a break" I said
"Fine, but here open this first" he replied pulling out a gift from a cabinet
"Stefan I thought we agreed on no presents" I said
"Well I lied, now open it" he replied
I started unwrapping the gift and it was a long velvet box. I opened the box and it was a locket.
"Open the locket" he said
I opened the locket and on one side it was Stefan, me and the twins and another side is baby me with my parents
"Stefan" I said as tears started welling up
"Do you like it?" He asked
"I love it, thank you" I said hugging him
"Happy birthday" he replied
"I love you" I said
"I love you too" he replied
Stefan gave me other things too like these shoes I really like and have been wanting. They were converse and I have been wearing the same pair for a while now. They were my beat up converse and I needed a new pair.
We spent a lot of time opening up gifts and we didn't know how long it was until the babies woke up
"You get Elijah, I'll get Ella" I said
We went upstairs and picked up the twins
"Hey baby" I said as I rocked her.
"He needs a diaper change" Stefan said
"We'll go ahead" I replied
I checked Ella and she didn't need one
"Let's go have some fun" I said bouncing Ella
We went downstairs and we played with Elijah and Ella. Elijah wasn't into peek a boo, but he did like the poking and singing him a song
While we were playing with the babies the doorbell rang. I picked up Ella and walked over to check who it was. It was Matthew and Julia.
"Hey guys" I said
"Happy birthday" they said simultaneously
"Thank you" I replied
I opened the door wider to indicate them to come in.
We went towards the family room where Elijah and Stefan was
"Finally you're here" Stefan said
I was confused because I didn't know they were coming over
"Sorry, where's everyone else" Matthew said
