I shot out of bed, instantly regretting because I was so sore and in pain.
I grabbed my bat and slowly left my room. I see Julia coming out of her room concerned.
I pointed to the twins rooms to tell her to stay with the twins. She went over to the room and I headed downstairs, slowly hiding behind walls.
The alarm is turned off. I see the body coming up the stairs and coming closer.
I swung my bat, colliding into a body part. I'm guessing stomach.
I heard a loud groan
"Fuck" the person cursed
Wait
I know that voice
"Stefan?" I said turning on the chandelier lights.
I looked to see a bent Stefan clutching his stomach
"Shit, Stefan I'm so sorry" I said
"I'm fine" he said giving me a thumbs up.
"Let's get you to bed" I said
I grabbed his arm, putting it over my shoulder which ached
"You're hurt" he said
"I'm fine" I replied
We went up the stairs and Julia came out of the twins room.
"I got them back to sleep" she said
"Thank you" I replied
"Welcome back Stefan, what happened to you?" She asked
"Got whacked with a bat" he said
"Not my fault, I thought someone was breaking in" I said
"Idiots" Julia scoffed
"Go to bed" I said to Julia pushing her to her room.
We walked to ours and I laid Stefan down.
"How are you injuries?" He asked
"Fine, I'm healing" I said
"You're hurt, and you need sleep" he replied
"You too" I said
I go on the other side of the bed, he wrapped his arm around me, my head laying in his chest.
"I love you" he said
"I love you too" I replied
"I'm so sorry you got hurt, I was so worried when I got the call" he said
"It's not your fault, it is just a cut. I'll be okay" I said
"Ok, I'm just happy that you only have a cut and nothing else" she said
"Yeah" I replied
"Goodnight Cherie" he said
"Goodnight my love" I said
We fell asleep peacefully, knowing that no one was breaking into our home.
Stefan let me sleep through the night because of jet lag so he was awake, checking on the twins.
I woke up the next morning, feeling sore and my head hurt. I just wanted to lay in bed all day
"Rise and shine love" Stefan said opening up the curtains
I see the beautiful fresh snow, I imagine the twins and Stefan and I throwing snowballs and making a snowman. I would have to wait though, they are only babies still
