[Y/N's POV] Location: Beigoma Academy [8:15 am] ( Sorry if I mixed some scenes up ;w; I'm trying my best lmao)

We were in the principle's office, apparently there were reporters in the school, you know, for the finals. I stood next to Shu as the principle talked into the camera about our student records and stuff.
"And I expect a fair, intense match between our two very good students" The principle finished, he touched both our shoulders. Shu stuck his left hand out with a smile. I decided to shrug it off, taking his hand and shaking it. "We are excited that two of our promised students will be battling each other in the district tournament finals today" He continued speaking to the camera. I let go of Shu's hand and it dropped to his side. We both turned to the camera and smiled as they snapped what felt like 10 minutes worth of pictures.
"And there you have it, Y/N L/N and Shu Kurenai will be fighting today at the finals, until then, reporter, out!" The cameraman stopped recording.

-Time skip-

"Sheesh" I breathed. "We never had to do that the other times we faced" Shu was silent.
"I think I'll head to class now" I tilted my head, confused.
"But we're in the same class" I reminded him. Shu scratched the back of his neck.
"Right" He sweatdropped. Is he trying to get away from me? I can't be that annoying.
"B-But you can go ahead if you want, I'd understand if you don't want to walk with me" I said stopping. Shu halted and turned around, facing me. He raised an eyebrow. After a couple seconds of staring at each other, he grabbed my hand and started dragging me down the hall. I was blushing madly, why? Shu's my rival! I can't like him.
right..?

We entered the classroom, where they were already doing a lesson, since we were pulled out for that interview thing. The teacher and pretty much the whole class (except the person sleeping in the very corner :> ) looked up and stared at us.
"finally, you're back" The teacher clapped her hands together as Shu quickly let go of my hand. Shu didn't say another word and walked towards his seat in the front of the room. I stood there for a second, then quickly rushed towards my seat, which was towards the back. I took out a notebook from my bag and placed it on my desk.
"Are you ready for the finals?" Valt whispered behind me. I looked over my shoulder, Valt was leaning over his desk, eyes twinkling. I nodded slowly. I'm beating Shu today, I know it. Then I'll become one of the supreme four, then become the world's number one blader, yeah sounds like a plan.
"Alright, back to our lesson" The teacher called, calming us down.

-After class-

The match was getting closer. Every time I passed by someone they would say something along these lines.
"Good luck at the finals! I'm cheering for you!" So yeah, I was reminded about it all day. I was doing some last minute training. But I couldn't help but think about Shu's shoulder. He'll be fine. I kept saying to myself. Wait. Why do I even care? He's just another rival. Right..?
