39 | The Glory Of Victory

It's been a good day so far for Y/N, instead of training all day and night for today's match, she followed Shu's advice and took a day off. Her arms were pretty sore from yesterday, not in the best shape for her match with Valt today. The semi-finals. Shu had promised to beat Lui and meet her for a final clash, but Y/N couldn't help but feel worried for the albino. His bey was cracked, and that burned part of his confidence to beat the flame-haired champion, she saw it in his eyes. The (h/c) haired girl quickly shook her head. What the heck are you thinking? She scolded herself. Shu wouldn't break his promise.

I have to be able to keep my side of the promise too.

It was almost time for the two matches today, whoever comes out on top? We don't know. Y/N turned to her side and looked through the glass, a TV was sat on the other side.

"Tune in today to see which of your favorite bladers will go head-to-head in the final round!" An announcer seemed to be standing in front of the stadium, as spectators were walking inside behind him. At this, Y/N smiled and continued walking.

"Allllllll Right!!!!" The announcer screamed through the microphone, making the bladers cringe. "The moment you've been waiting for... the semi-final match!" The crowds roared and clapped. "First up, she's been rampaging through this competition, she's beaten Zac, as well as Shu in the team battles, it's Y/N L/N!" The doors slid open and smoke spread across the platform. The lights shined against the girl's (s/c) skin as she walked up to the stadium. "And her opponent is the wonder boy himself, Valt Aoi!" Soon enough, a familiar blue-haired boy came rolling down the stairs and crashed right into the stadium. A sweat tear rolled down the girl's cheek, as laughter came from the audience. The blader jumped back onto his feet and a wide smile appeared on his face, putting his hands on his hips proudly.

"I've been waiting for this" Y/N took her bey out from her pocket, and it shined under the bright slight. She had cleaned Tsunami the day before, her movements should be a bit smoother. The (h/c) haired girl had also come up with a plan the day before. I'll try all defense this round, he's bound to attack recklessly. She squinted her eyes at the boy as he knelt to his launching position, Y/N did the same. If I launch Tsunami with enough force, I won't need to worry about stamina, sometimes I wish my bey was like Free's. The blonde-haired boy appeared in her mind. He was always better than her, wonder what he's doing now.

And where he is.

I can't absorb stamina like Free's bey, Fafnir was it? Y/N was doing this based on memory because she used to battle him a long time ago before she had Tsunami. Y/N shook her head, snapping out of her thoughts. Valt's moves are way to easy to read, but I know his bey comes up with a surprise when he's on the edge. We have to be careful.

"Let it rip!" Y/N did a backhand launch, and her bey zoomed straight to the middle with a good amount of speed.

Defense Mode? Shu thought, squinting his eyes. So she's playing safe until she knows Valt's plan, but I doubt he even has one. What is Y/N trying to do?

"Go in partner! Rush Launch!" Valtryek zoomed in and started attacking Tsunami recklessly until something in Y/N's bey snapped.
"Alright!" Y/N grinned. "Typhoon's Hard Shell!" There was something special about Tsunami's defense mode. With this move, Tsunami raised itself a bit, so Valtryek started crashing into the under part of the bey. During defense mode, that part of the bey has a strong "shell", so Tsunami is using this to deflect Valtryek's attacks. Valt seemed to notice this but told his bey to keep attacking regardless that Tsunami's defense isn't shaking one bit. Soon enough, both bladers noticed Valtryek's drop in speed. Valt's bey swung around and came in for another attack. Y/N squinted her eyes and grinned. Perfect, when your prey is weak, lash out, defence can be offensive too.
"Storm's tip!" Tsunami slowly tipped towards the direction Valtryek was going to attack from.

Ah. Shu thought. I get it now. So Tsunami's bottom half is more defensive, and its top is used for offense.
"You're getting frustrated" Y/N smirked. It was true. Valt clutched his fist, trying to figure something out. I guess all my training is paying off. She touched her sore right arm, a smile on her face as Valtryek smashed into Tsunami, and it burst. The boy's eyes went wide as pieces of his bey flew into the sky. Every person's jaw dropped, and it was silent for a couple of seconds.
"Spirit Tsunami with a burst finish! Y/N wins with a score of 2 to 0!" With this, the crowds roared and cheered. Y/N wiped the sweat from her face. Her (e/c) eyes turned towards a certain crimson-eyed boy in the stands, who was smiling back at her. Shu gave her a thumbs up.

"Y/N!" The girl turned around at the sound of her name. Standing before her was a familiar blue-haired opponent, he looked like he's been crying, and snot was coming out of his nose. Even though tears were rolling down his face, he wore a smile, extending a hand out towards Y/N.

"That's was quite a thriller!" Valt exclaimed as the (h/c) haired blader shook his hand.

"Would you look at that folks! A thrilling battle between Valt Aoi and Y/N L/N has left us with Tsunami as the winner! Stick around! Soon we will see who her opponent is in the finals! Shu? Or Lui?"
