The sky was clear. There was nothing but dark blue and stars. The wind was gentle. On the horizon, there was a slight color of yellow. It was almost time. Sitting by the window was a familiar (h/c) haired girl. Her (e/c) eyes sparkled under the moonlight. She could see the sun slightly rising, another year has passed, and her parents were still on a trip. So here she was again, spending New Year alone. So many things happened this year, just thinking about it all was hurting her head. The tournament, her friends, her childhood friends, family, and a certain albino.

The image of the young blader flashed in her mind. He was smiling at her, waving. Until she realized she wasn't dreaming. The albino was actually outside her door, waving at her as (Y/N) stared down at him from the window. "Hey" He smirked. "Spending New Year alone?"

"Nice place" He commented, eyeing his surroundings. It was dark, the only light that filled the living room was from outside, the nighttime light. Shu checked his phone. "It's 11:45 pm," He said. "It's almost time" "Mhm!" The (h/c) haired girl chirped. "Are we meeting the others to celebrate?" Shu stayed silent. "Shu?" She waved her hand in front of his face. He soon snapped out of it and blinked wildly. "Huh?" He said, bewildered. "Oh, sorry" The (e/c) eyed girl sighed and put her hands on her hips. Before any of them could say anything, the doorbell rang. (Y/N) walked towards the door and opened it. There standing outside was Ren, he had a huge smile on his face, standing next to him was Ukyo, her brother. "Hey! Oh, Shu's here too? Sweet! Party time!!" Of course, like always, Ren invited himself in without Y/N saying anything.

"1!" "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" They all cheered. There was pretty much a buffet on the kitchen counter, and Ren has had about 5 bottles of apple cider. A new year, new goals. Before long, the four of them were gathered around the coffee table in a circle, they were about to share their goals for the new year.
"Well, I want to work my way up to the throne again!" Ren announced, pulling out his bey, which sparkled under the beautiful light. The three of them chuckled, amused.
"Well, I want to be able to continue martial arts, and blading, but also be able to spend time with my family and friends" He glanced at (Y/N) who smiled back. "And be able to provide enough for us" The (h/c) haired girl pretended to get all emotional and went to hug her brother. "That's sweet big brother" She sniffled. Ukyo chuckled.
"Well, I want to become the strongest blader I can become" Shu announced. "I don't know what else to wish for" (Bish wish for Y/N to be your girlfriend ifjbnwvownbvowibvwoi) He looked around to see all of his friends smiling back at him.
"Well.." Y/N looked up at the ceiling as she felt everyone's eyes land on her. "I want to also be up there at the top with the rest of you," She started, she looked from Ren to Ukyo, to Shu. "But I think I just want to be able to spend more time with you guys, and you" Her eyes landed on Shu. His crimson eyes went wide, his cheeks tinted with pink. "ooOOoOOo" Ren cooed. "You know, maybe Shu should be your new year's kiss" He wiggled his eyebrows flirty-like. (Y/N) turned red and looked away from Shu. That is, until she felt someone's lips on her cheek. Her (e/c) eyes went wide as her cheeks went pink when she realized it was Shu. Right after he pulled away, the albino turned away quickly. (Y/N) touched her cheek, where Shu kissed her. "Sorry.." He whispered.
