34 | Saying I Like You Is Hard

[ I woke up to my Wattpad being glitched, apparently, my Wattpad was now Spanish ;-; ]

Sorry about the cliff-hanger last time :D

Does anyone else notice, correct me if I'm wrong, but Shu wears the same shirt in all the series, he changed his tie color, but his shirt is the same .-. he never outgrew the shirt or something lol 

"What...?" The (h/c) haired girl whispered. Her cheeks started to become red, almost choking on a couple of leaves she accidentally swallowed. (Bru-) Shu didn't reply at first, but Valt knew he was right. Me...? Y/N was still processing everything. She even thought back to the time the albino actually kissed her. So it was all real? Shu sighed, staring at the ground, his back facing Valt. He let out a small light-hearted chuckle. 

"I don't know what to think" The albino continued, breaking the awkward silence in the air. "I'm not sure if I should be in love, she's a rival after all" So it is me. The (e/c) eyed girl thought to herself, turning a bit red, she sunk deeper into the bush to avoid being caught. Valt scratched the back of his neck, frowning. 
"I mean, I'm not good with this kind of thing, but I say you follow your heart!" Valt announced proudly. "And don't worry, I'll keep your secret until you figure things out" The blue-haired blader gave his friend a thumbs-up. Shu turned to face Valt with a smile, his crimson gaze meeting his friend's. 
"Thanks, now I believe we have the tournament to train for?" Valt pumped his fists in the air in celebration. 
"Yeah! I will train until I die!!!" He exclaimed excitedly. Shu gave Valt an amused look before he followed the blue-haired boy towards the beypark. They continued chatting about something, but let's not forget the person in the bush. The duo seemed to have disappeared, Y/N sighed in relief that they didn't notice her. 
"Uh, (N/N)? What are you doing behind a bush?" The poor girl almost fell forward into the bushy leaves as a familiar voice scared her. Y/N turned around, only to meet her brother's gaze, Ren was behind him. Both of them looked rather confused with the situation, why was she hiding behind a bush? Ukyo was crouched down, both of them tilted their heads. Y/N scratched her head, sweating. She was trying to find the best excuse. 
"U-Um, I was bush inspecting! yeah!" She said rather quickly. Oh god, that wasn't too convincing, was it? If I told them, Ren would freak out and say 'I told you so' and Ukyo would be the overprotective brother he is, and Y/N didn't want to handle either of them. 
"Uh-huh," Ren squinted his eyes at her. "Whatever, we're going to get dinner, you coming?"

[ TIME SKIP ]

They were back, it's been two weeks, two weeks of training alone and getting ready for upcoming battles. Y/N was up against the star and singer himself, Zac the Sunrise, and his bey, Zillion Zeutron. His bey was very interesting, but Y/N wasn't going to lose to her former teammate. And no, she hadn't told anyone that she was hiding behind the bush and she found out that Shu liked her back. That doesn't change anything. Y/N thought, shaking her head to snap herself back to reality. He's still my rival and I want to beat him, this time during the individuals. 
"Oh Hey, you're here early" A familiar voice made her freeze. Y/N slowly turned around to a tired-looking Shu. From his expression, he looked like he was about to fall asleep. Act as nothing happened. She told herself. He doesn't know you were spying on him, don't let him find out or it'll be more awkward.
"Oh hey, Shu! I should be saying the same thing" She commented. They were a bit early, guess neither of them could wait for the battles today. "You're up against Wakyia, right?" He nodded, a yawn escaped his mouth. "Well, I'm pretty sure he'll bring his best game, he was pretty set on beating you" The female blader recalled. How many times did Wakyia challenge Shu to a battle? It felt like 1 million. A smile appeared on the albino's face. 
"Yeah" He replied. Things started getting awkward again, and both bladers looked away from each other to hide their blush. 
"W-Well, you're up against Zac right? I've fought against him before" The crimson-eyed boy scratched the back of his neck nervously. "I can say he was pretty tough" Y/N turned her head to face Shu again. "And he's got the whole crowd cheering for him, quite the star" and to himself, he muttered. "You're a star too" 
"What was that?" Y/N tilted her head, she didn't quite catch what he had said. Shu shook his head, his smile returning to his face. 
"Don't worry about it, let's head inside and get some extra training in since we're early unless there is something else you'd rather do..." His voice trailed off and he looked away. 

[Shoe's POV🥿] (Not that old joke again 😂)

Shu, what are you doing? I scolded myself. Just say that you like her! Ugh, why is this so hard?

[Normal POV]

"Well, have you ate lunch?" Y/N chirped. Shu seemed to have spaced out. He snapped back to reality and looked around wildly. 
"Huh? Oh, not yet" He replied, snatching the back of his neck. 
"Oh then, how about we get something from town? We have lots of time" Y/N suggested. 
"Yeah... that would be great"
