33 | I'm Your Best Friend?

Why is it so hot today ;-; anyway here's chapter 33 :D

(If anyone is confused, Your match was the one after Shu's I didn't know how to write it so I placed a time skip hee hee, I suck at writing bey battles :) )

"Naoki? Like that aqua-head that Valt faced today?" Honcho raised a brow, unconvinced. Wakyia put his hands on his hips, hating the fact that he was agreeing with Honcho. Y/N sighed. 

"I know it sounds strange, but-"
"Of course it sounds strange! Why would Naoki want to sabotage Shu in the first place?" Wakyia snapped. The (h/c) haired girl looked taken aback, and Shu's eyes went wide. The blonde boy rolled his eyes in annoyance. "How the heck did you even think of the science-head?" The over-confident blader continued. The albino placed a hand on his chin like he was thinking about something.  Without warning the crimson-eyed blader grabbed Y/N by the hand and pulled her aside as the beyclub continued arguing. The albino leaned against the wall as both of them were waiting for the other to speak up, so it was pretty awkward. 
"Do you...believe me?" Y/N spoke up, breaking the silence. 
"Of course I do, it does seem logical" He nodded, snatching the back of his neck. "Though, may I ask, how did you come to that conclusion in the first place?" So there she was, explaining everything starting from Valt's match. She told him how she saw Naoki's face when Valt didn't show up at first, and the face of shock and annoyance when Valt arrived just in time for the battle. 
"He was probably trying to sabotage Valt, so he could win" Shu replied. Y/N nodded her head before continuing. She told him that she had run into Naoki after his loss to Valt, by his attitude, he would do anything to throw Valt off his game. Not to mention, she had seen a hint of aqua hair in the exact direction those flashes came from. The albino raised a brow as he continued to listen carefully, he smiled as the (e/c) eyed girl finished. 
"You're very observant I see" He smirked. Y/N shrugged. 
"I guess that's just my personality, maybe you should learn how to be observant too" She joked. Both bladers turned towards the beyclub, but they were nowhere to be found. The albino sighed. 

"Where have they gone off to now?" He wondered. 
"Why not check the entrance?" Y/N suggested. "Maybe they left before us" Shu nodded in agreement, both bladers made their way towards the entrance, the sun was already setting and the sky was orange and yellow, the light from the sun shone through the glass walls the building had. To their luck, Valt and the others were outside, with...Naoki? Shu had noticed him as well. 
"What is going on here" Shu spoke up. It looked like Valt was about to beat Naoki up, his face was all angry, not the usual angry, like really angry, like he was about to murder someone. The beyclub members turned around to see Y/N and Shu standing before them. Shu put his hands on his hips and frowned. 
"Valt, we are all bladers, if you want to settle this, you should settle it with your beys" Y/N knitted her eyebrows together and stared at Shu. The albino's gaze looked stern and serious. Valt and Naoki exchanged looks before finally agreeing.

The sound of beys clashing filled the room, while a certain two bladers watched from a distance. Daigo was the referee for their battle. Both of them were leaning against the wall and Naoki and Valt were going all out on each other. 
"Sometimes I wonder if you really do care about your best friend" Y/N nodded her head towards Valt, who seemed to be in the zone of their battle. It seemed like all the problems were solved now. Shu turned his head, his crimson eyes laid on her. 
"He isn't my best friend, you are" Y/N's (e/c) eyes went wide in shock. She pointed to herself. 
"Me?" She asked in disbelief. "Your... best friend?" For some reason, her heart slightly sunk at that. Shu looked away, muttering to himself from what sounds like
"Yeah... best friend" Y/N's heart shattered, then she shook her head quickly, waking herself up from her thoughts. That's how he sees me huh.
"YEAHHHHHHHHHH!" Valt's voice split through the air. Both bladers looked up to see Valt pumping his fists into the air in victory as Naoki hung his head. "I won!" He yelled happily. Shu and Y/N walked towards the beyclub who were gathered around Valt and the stadium. The blue-haired boy pointed at Naoki. "Now that I won, you have to stop your research and cheating!" He demanded. Y/N and Shu exchanged confused looks. Research? Y/N thought. What kind of "research"?

The beyclub had left the stadium for the day after long and hard battles. The match-ups were already up for next week, they had a week to prepare since from here on out, the battles would be harder. Y/N was up against the showman himself, Zac the Sunrise. He was also one of the supreme four and destroyed Valt during that festival. Shu was up against Wakyia, and that blonde-haired boy was so set on beating Shu in the beginning, so that means, unless Shu beats both Wakyia and Lui, he won't advance to the finals. Lastly, Valt was against Xander, if Valt wins, Y/N would be up against Valt. 

Y/N found herself in a bush (yes, really), spying on Shu and Valt. The albino had his back facing the blue-haired boy. The wind was blowing gently. 
"Hey Valt" He finally spoke up, making the blue-haired boy tilt his head to the side. "What do you do if you might love someone?" (Wha- Why ask Valt out of all people lol) His eyes went wide in shock, clearly not expecting something like that to come out of Shu's mouth, ever. There was an awkward silence as Y/N held her breath, her heart was slowly sinking. It's Akari, isn't it. She thought as she waited for Valt's reply. The blue-haired blader seemed to be catching on. 
"It's Y/N, isn't it?"
