[Y/N'S POV] - Bey stadium - Japan -

"Hey guys! I made it" I panted, running towards my team, they seemed to be warming up, like usual. Zac clapped his hands together.
"Brilliant! You've arrived!" I sweatdropped and snatched the back of my neck.
"yeah... sorry for keeping you waiting, I was talking to Shu" I bowed at 90 degrees.
"No! It's perfectly fine young star!" He gave me his normal jazz hands, with a huge smile across his face. "You're not late" He assured me. "You're right on time actually!" I smiled. Glad I am, I hated being late to anything, that includes school.  Then I remembered who we were up against, it sent shivers down my spine.

[Flashback]

"Welp, I need to get going, Zac's not going to be happy if I don't show up" I said sweatdropping. Shu gave me a small smile.
"Yeah, I guess I need to get going too"
"Your match is the first one today right?" I asked, tilting my head. The albino nodded, scratching the back of his neck.
"You know it-" BAM. I fell forward, but Shu caught me before I fell.
"I am so so sorry" Came a voice that was shockingly familiar. My head spun around when it hit me. There standing before me, was my black haired friend dressed in green, and both his hands had familiar puppets on them.
"Ken?!" I gasped, eyes widened. Ken's eyes widened as well.
"Y/N? Shu?" The blue puppet gasped. It's really Ken! The same one that moved from our school not so long ago, standing before us, and a part of the Beasts...

But it didn't matter, he was my friend, just like how I was on the Silver stars, and Shu and everyone else was on beigoma. I threw my hands out to hug him, but I was shoved back. It was such a harsh shove as I heard a loud growl. Shu caught me again, looking up to glare at the boy who pushed me down. Standing in front of a shocked Ken, was a boy wearing a hoodie, growling like a beast, and his hair was pink. Ben Azuki. I stood back up and brushed my clothes.
"D-Don't need to be so aggressive" One of Ken's puppets protested as Ben continued barking at me. Shu stood in front of me, blocking Ben's way.
"Don't come any closer" Shu's voice was very stern and overprotective. I looked up at him, I've never seen him so angry before. His red eyes were piercing. Without another word, Shu turned around and took my hand. "Come on" His voice was cold. I gulped. What's up with him? "we need to get to our teams" Shu walked at a fast pace. When I finally caught up to him, I decided to speak up.
"Why are you so angry? Sure he pushed me down, but you don't need to get all mad about it!" I protested. Shu didn't turn to look at me.
"It's just not about you" Shu finally spoke, suddenly coming to a halt, causing me to crash into his back.
"Oi!" I yelped.

"Ben's attitude needs to change, sure, he's tough and he wants to show that to anyone, but I think he's being way too aggressive, don't you think?" I let out a small gasp. Is that what he's thinking about?
"I guess so, but maybe that's just how he is" I added. Shu turned towards me and looked me in the eye.

"Are you defending him?" I shook my head quickly.
"O-Of course not! I'm just saying! He's kind of like Lui" I added in a softer tone. "His personality might be horrible, but he's a good blader, that's just the way he is" I explained. Shu's gaze softened, understanding.
"You always think like that, Y/N" I sighed in relief. I thought Shu would flip when I mentioned Lui, of course, that wasn't my intention, I forgot Shu and Lui were intense rivals. I'm just glad Shu didn't get more mad than he already was.
"That's me" I laughed nervously. "well, I need to get to the silver stars" I waved as I headed towards the opposite direction as Shu.

[End of Flashback]

We sat with the audience as I heard cheering for Zac, who waved and bowed. My eyes were glued to the stadium as the two teams came out. The crowd started to roar as Xander appeared. I could see why. The tall red-head was one of the supreme four, of course he's popular. I sat between Orochi and Zac, since our match was later today.

-Time skip-

"From Beigoma, Wakyia, Daigo and Shu!" The announcer yelled over the loudspeaker. I blinked. Hang on... I was so sure Valt would be in today, knowing him, he would probably put himself in, unless...

"So twinkle toes isn't in today? I'm starting to miss him" Zac sounded disappointed, but yet he had a smile on his face. Orochi blew a bubble with his gum and it popped.
"I'm guessing it's Wakyia's call, not his own" came the boy's monotone voice. I nodded slowly, that was exactly what I was thinking. But Wakyia is strong... "I heard he lost his last match, that must have been embarrassing" Ouch. I thought. But he's not wrong. Losing in front of all these people, who wouldn't be upset?
"Yes, but you can't win them all am I right?" Came Zac's reply, he sweatdropped at Orochi's answer.
"And from the sword flames, Xander, Hugo and Ukyo!" The announcer finished. Hugo and Ukyo eh? I'm not surprised they choose Xander though, he's strong. Teams should always send in their strong bladers... then what is Valt thinking??? But yet again... Orochi might be right, it was probably Wakyia's call. Why am I talking to myself again?

"It's about to start" I breathed. Zac held a finger up to his lips as like he was trying to shush us. Wakyia was up against Xander. I held my breath. Does Wakyia really think he can beat Xander? I shook my head, stopping the bad thoughts. What am I thinking? I'm cheering Wakyia on!
"Ready, set!"
