Pretend the Jackhammer wasn't destroyed, I forgot it was until I finished. 🤦♂️🤦♀️
"Soldier that was unprofessional and highly dangerous, you jeopardized the entire mission!" Ultra Magnus scolded, face set in an angry line. Wheeljack was stood infront of him, arms crossed and just as angry.
"Well, Sir, if I hadn't blew up that mine we would all have been scrapped! Just 'cuz you think I can never do anything right doesn't mean every time I do anything you don't like you can just yell at me and send me on patrol!" The wrecker growled in response, pointing a digit in the Commanders direction angrily every few seconds.
"If you wish to mess around on missions and blow things up, that is what you deserve." Ultra Magnus said back.
"I deserve to be punished for something I needed to do? Perfect representation for why I left the Wreckers when I did!" Wheeljack all but hissed at the taller bot.
"You left the Wreckers because you couldn't handle my commanding, your lack of self control and common sense would have offlined you eons before now if I hadn't changed the Wreckers for the better!"
"You didn't change anything for the better! You took my friends and twisted them into unrecognizable bots that are forced to give up what they chose to do because you didn't think it was right!" Wheeljack was really getting mad now, almost regretting bringing up the Wreckers. It was a sensitive subject to argue about, painful even, but being the stubborn bot he was, Wheeljack carried on.
"Maybe if you stopped and looked at what you did to the Wreckers, you would see that you didn't help us! If anything you ruined us!"
Ultra Magnus didn't say anything, staring down at the angry tri-coloured mech.
"If that is how you feel, then perhaps you should be thinking about leaving instead of ruining our chances of survival, I am here and you cannot change that for the sole reason I made your 'friends' realise what was good for them. You cause more damage than good, Soldier. The only reason I haven't spoken about this before is because you would have taken off and gotten yourself offlined. Bulkhead's recovery would be set back and all you would do is hurt the team! You may have mildly impressed me with your skills in combat but that doesn't hide the fact that you run whenever you're uncomfortable and put everyone in danger! When you leave everyone functions nicely and follow rules, maybe you should leave more often!"
The Commander paused, rant over, realising too late how low that blow had been.
Wheeljack stood there in silence, it didn't take a smart mech to see how deeply offended he was.
The Wrecker opened and closed his mouth again, Ultra Magnus did the same.
Neither bot said anything, both trying to get over what had just been said. Finally, Wheeljack moved backwards.
"So that's what you think, huh? Maybe I will if you like it so much" Wheeljack turned and left without another sound. Presumably to his ship.
Ultra Magnus didn't say anything, looking on after Wheeljack still unable to say anything back.
"Fragging Magnus thinking he's so good and right," Wheeljack growled to himself as he got to work fixing the engine of The Jackhammer. "Always forcing change and expecting everyone to just go and want it to happen just cuz it's him."
He pulled at a wire too hard and gasped as his arm shot back, scraping hard against the ship.
He growled and threw the wire back, kicking a bucket next to his working space angrily. It flew into the wall with a crack in it loudly, Ratchet would get mad about it later.
Wheeljack turned back to the Jackhammer, staring at the open panel blankly. Despite his anger, everything was going blank.
He stood staring at nothing for a few minutes before turning and leaving base, hiding behind another building not too far away.
Bulkhead sat down by Miko, the girl energetic as always.
"It was so sick! Everyone was so disgusted but I thought it was so awesome-" Bulkhead tuned out the rambling unpurposely. Without meaning to, his mind wandered to the mission they had just returned from.
He had successfully secured a mine, the defenses there were weak. The other mine they were aiming for however had solid lines and well trained soldiers. Bumblebee, Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus had been sent to that one but had been quickly outnumbered. He didn't hear many details but what he did know was that Wheeljack blew up some stuff. Bulkhead chuckled silently at that, gotta rely on Jackie to blow stuff up.
"So? Whadda ya think?" Miko interrupted Bulkhead's thoughts.
"Uh, well..." The large bot desperately trying to remember what they had been talking about.
"You weren't listening were you! Bulk you traitor!" Miko pouted and stuck her tongue out at Bulkhead, crossing her arms and trying not to let a tell-tale grin take over her face.
"Uh, no..." Bulkhead said embarrassed, rubbing his helm sheepishly.
