Part 23: Silent Encounter

Erros POV.

"Why I can't see anything?" I heard Xavier suddenly whispered that causes me to turned my head to him wearing my confused look.

Can't see anything? What does it mean?

"Huh? Anong wala kang makita?" Rhimson asked him.
I remained my eyes on Xavier that is already shaking his head now. Like he disregard his current thoughts and then explained his side while his sight stayed outside the windshield of our car.

Due to my curiosity I find myself leaning on our windshield too and then look for what is Xavier referring with.

"Weird. Bakit wala man lang akong makitang pakalat-kalat na zombie sa paligid natin?" he said again and I nodded afterwards when I realized that he's right.

Nasa loob lang kami ng Van at binabantayan ang paligid. It happened that the store that we've been looking for is just near from convent just a few kilometers away. Kaya naman hindi na kami nahirapan pang maghanap nito. We've been here for a minutes and looking outside if there still an alive infected outside the place, except to those zombies all scattered at the way and thankfully, all of them are already dead. Aside from that we just meet the plain and soundless area of Antipolo.

"Natatakot tuloy ako," We heard Rhimson nervously said. Nagsalubong ang mga mata namin ni Xavier and I know that both of us wondering about the weird things happening outside this place. Kahit pa mukhang loko-loko ang tinatawag na pandak ni Ali ay alam kung matalino rin ito at ganoon rin si Matt. Ang isip na bata lang naman ang walang muwang sa mundo na ito eh.

"Don't be. If there are no zombie's outside it means that we can go out now. Enemies are not meant to be look for," Even though I know that Gab was just calming his friends I can still sense and taste the vaunts of his voice. I couldn't stop him when he was the first one who emerge out of our vehicle.

All of us remained our eyes to him. Waiting any foe to attack him but of course we will not let that happened. I'm sure all of us only want to ensure that no one will block our way to our eventuality. I just want to end this mission to get back to my sister premises immediately, I promised her that we will survive this outbreak together. And I can't break that promise to her.

Gabin was now wearing his triumphant grin when he face us. "What? Are you gonna watch me or decide to get your ass off from your seats? Come on guys, we're wasting our time."

He's right. I quickly take off my seatbelt and started to open the door beside me. I felt their stares from the inside of the Van when I exposed myself outside of our guard. Napalibot ako ng paningin and feel that something's off from this area. Nakakabingi ang katahimikan at parang gusto ko na lang bumalik ulit sa kombento na napuntahan namin. Why I am here anyway- Oh right, I am the one who made this plan all the way, because if I will not do it I know no one will do. I just feel the responsibility to save them.

I peek from window of the car and give my assuring smile to others. I sense their fear, because I am too. Something's really off from this place and I don't know if I'm right, but my instincts tell me to just go back from where we came from. But what can we do now? We're here already and there's only two things that we need to finished and we're finally free to go back safe to our companions.
