We head inside the store after getting a trolley. Many smells of different foods hit me all at once. "If you see anything you want just put it in the trolley." George turns around to face me.

"Are you sure?" He tilts his head slightly and I smile at him, then nod and turn to one of the shelves.

I look through the different brands and once I've chosen one, turn back to add it to the shopping. I notice that there's at least five more items than before.

"George?" He hums a response and turns around, with another pile of who knows what in his hands.

"What is all this?" I motion to everything in the trolley and the things in his hands.

"Food. I'm going to be cooking for us now. You're not trusted in the kitchen." He crosses his arms with a smug look on his face, like he just accomplished something great.

"Last time I checked, you were the one who burnt half of our cupcakes and also your hand in the process." His expression changes and his face turns slightly pinker.

"You can supervise then." He slowly drops everything from his hands into the trolley and I laugh quietly.

"It's okay, you're still better at cooking than me." We both laugh, quiet enough to not disturb the other customers. The store is quite big and it takes us a good hour and a half to get through it all. Eventually we make our way to the checkout with all of our shopping.

I start putting all of the items we have onto the conveyor, and George is looking around us curiously. "Clay?"

"Yeah?" I lift the final item onto the conveyor and look over to see the short boy looking at me excitedly.

I walk to take all of my items once they've been scanned, with George following close behind me. "Can we go to the pet store after this?" I start lifting the items into bags and George helps me.

"Why the pet store?" The smile stays on his face and I can tell he really wants to go.

"I want to look at the animals..." He fiddles with the fabric of his skirt and looks up at me to hopefully. I pay for the shopping and we walk outside with the bags in the trolley.

"Okay, but we need to take these back home first." I pick up the bags and George takes the trolley back. "We'll also need to take the car to get there." We start walking side by side.

"Really?!" George excitedly clings onto my arms, basically jumping up and down. One of the bags slips from my fingers but I manage to catch it again before it hits the ground.

"Be careful or I'll drop the shopping." He lets go of my arm and steps away slightly. I feel sort of disappointed at the loss of his warm touch.

"Sorry..." He turns his head away from me but I can tell that there's sadness and guilt in his voice.

"It's okay, George. You can hold on to me but just don't jump around." We're about ten minutes away from the house now. George moves back towards me and links our arms, careful to not make me drop anything.

"Remind me to get more cat food when we're at the pet store." I tell him while he looks around at the park were currently walking through.

"Sure." We smile at each other then look forward again to where we're walking.

I feel something damp on my nose, then my entire face. The path starts darkening and the bright sunlight fades a bit. "It's raining, let's hurry." I tell George and he nods.

He takes one of the bags from me and we practically run back to the house. Once we're in, I sigh in relief and take off my shoes.

"Glad we got back before it got too bad." He hums in agreement and walks upstairs. I take the bags to the kitchen and start unpacking things, putting them where they're supposed to go.

I hear George coming down the stairs just when I'm finished unpacking everything. He has a towel around him, and one in his hand. The towel is thrown at me and George laughs quietly.

"Hurry up so we can leave." I take the towel off my face and roll my eyes.

"Be more patient." He ruffles his hair with the towel to dry it slightly then leaves the towel on a chair to dry.

"Do you have an umbrella?" I see him looking around the room curiously. He looks cute when he's focused on something. I could watch him for hours on end.

"George, it's a two meter walk, you won't die." I laugh at my own comment and take the towel away from me, walking back down the hall and two the front door.

"Well, I might! You never know." He giggles while following my steps to the front of the house. I reach my hand into the closet in the hallway and pull out a neon green umbrella. George puts his shoes back on while I do that.

"Here." I hand it to him and he opens it. "George, that's bad luck." I also put my shoes back on and grab a rain coat.

"Shush." He opens the front door and steps out. There's a puddle forming in the driveway and he jumps in it, splashing some water around. It's like he's never seen rain before. But he has.

"I won't let you get in the car if you're going to get water everywhere." It unlocks and I open my door, stepping in and turning on the car.

"No, wait, I'll stop." I laugh and he rushes to the other door, closing the umbrella and hopping in. Small droplets of water are scattered across his side of the car. I shake my head and sigh playfully, then start backing out of the driveway.
