I frown at my phone, worry scraping at my heart. Something is wrong; I can feel it. He doesn't get serious out of nowhere. I really hope he ends up telling me later.
I quickly get dressed, fixing up my hair and heading downstairs. Mom is in the kitchen getting her coffee ready before she leaves for work.
"Morning mom," I kiss her cheek, grabbing out a water bottle.
"Morning. You feeling better?"

"You're so weird, child. One minute you're fine, the next you're throwing up. I don't get you."
"I don't get me either," I smile. "It was probably something I ate."
"What did you eat?" She stands up at washes her cup out in the sink.
