Physical Comfort (and more things I can't have)

Come and lay your head in my lap while I run my fingers in your hair. I want to read you poetry while you close your eyes and listen. I want to spend the week gathering poems and stories to read to you. I want you to tell me your favorites. I want to drink fizzy drinks with you and watch the water. I want to sit on a beach and have the tide come in around us. I want to walk into the water with you and have you hold me as we bounce with the waves. I want to wrap a towel around you while you're wet and shivering and kiss you on the forehead.

I want to be affectionate, I want you to feel loved.

I want to rub your back when you're not feeling good. I want to entangle our legs together. I want you to lay your head on my chest. I want to whisper to you while we hug.

I want to dance with you. Everywhere. I want to sway in the kitchen while making pancakes to soft tunes played from records. I want to hold your hands and jump around yell singing with each other at concerts. I want to swing our arms as we walk around, sharing headphones. I want to slow dance with you outside when the sun is going down and the warm day begins to cool. I want you to pick me up and spin me when you're happy.

I want to engulf myself in you. I want to feel what you're feeling. I want to whisper all your worries away. I want you to feel so loved. I want to share all of my being with you.

One day, I hope.
