I have so much to tell you and yet I don't know where to begin. Let's just start with this weekend.
Friday we slept over Willows because their childhood hometown best friend, Lee, was coming up for the day. Since I started talking to my friends they've compared me to Lee. Here's what I knew about them before meeting them (I had them on insta and snap):
- They're trad goth
- They listened to Of Montreal
- They work at Hot Topic
- They're me if I grew up with my college friends
So obviously Im excited to meet them. They were coming early in the morning so Kam, Hannah, and I decided to sleep over Willows so we wouldn't get up early. We were also dyeing our hair that night. That night wasn't anything exciting. We met Gaby's girlfriend that night but that will be touched on later. We got Taco Bell and just hung out. I passed out on Willows hard ass floor. I also stained her bathtub pink.
The next morning Lee was supposed to get there at 9 but ended up arriving at 11. I was groggily woken up at 9 and told to get dressed. I wore my spaceship of death AJJ shirt and a random pair of jeans. I was sitting with Willow and Hannah doing our make up when Lee got there. I was super nervous to meet them. I had dmed with them a couple times before but I was just so nervous for them to like me. I kept saying to Willow "what would you do if we hated each other" to which she would say "trust me, you won't".
When Lee came in I stayed pretty silent. I was aware that there was some weird tension between everyone that I'll explain briefly later. I was just doing my make up and not really saying much. We decided to go to an antique store that everyone except me and Lee had gone to before. We had talked about going to weekend before but we just didn't have time. I was excited to go.
We get there and the place is really cool. I took a bunch of pictures. It was a big flea market. I had bought an old erotica book and made Hannah buy it for me because I was embarrassed. The ladies at the register just joked around with her about how silly it was. That made me feel dumb for being embarrassed. After this we went somewhere to eat.
While at the eating place, Lee had done something that made my jaw drop to the ground immediately. Someone had called me emo and I said "muh I'm not emo" to which Lee said "yeah she's folk punk duh" I looked at them with big eyes and said "how do you know that? Who told you to say that?" to which they said "You're wearing an AJJ shirt and mentioned Jeff Rosenstock (1) in the car." I literally jumped with joy after they said that. We had a brief convo about Worry and how they listened to it in the car ride up here. They also eventually said " are we about to kiss on the mouth?" To which I loudly yelled "ABSOLUTELY". We then left to go back to Kam's room.
(1) I was in the car telling Hannah how a boy who lives on our floor looks exactly like Jeff Rosenstock. Hannah said Jeff rosenstock was hot and I high fived her and told her she just earned cool guy points with that one.
In Kam's room we talked a little about music and a lot about their hometown friends. (Sidenote: we stopped at my room before this and they kept pointing at my posters and saying "nice I love that band" which basically gave me a boner) It was nice but then it was time to go to Gaby's. This is where this story picks up.
