𝕭𝖔𝖓𝖉𝖘 [Tanjiro Kamado X Reader] (Kimetsu no Yaiba)

~chapter eighteen~

(Y/N) Pov:

"He-He isn't our brother... Our brother was wearing yellowish brown clothing..." noted the boy, hugging his little sister. So there's more than just one person in there? "(Y/N), Zenitsu! Let's go!" called Tanjiro, making me nod. I placed Nezuko's box down, saying: "This will protect you, okay? So don't be afraid. Everything will be fine." They both nodded, and I went over to Tanjiro and Zenitsu, walking inside the house together, with Zenitsu wailing, of course.

"Tanjiro... Tanjiro, are you listening? You will protect me, right? Right?" asked Zenitsu, holding onto my Haori. I sighed, having to drag him with me. Tanjiro said: "Zenitsu. There's something I must apologize to you about. Actually, my ribs and leg both have fractures that haven't healed yet due to my last battle. So-" "Ehh! Why do you have bone fractures?! (Y-(Y/N)-chan! You'll protect me, right?! You will, right?!"

I gave him a light smile, saying: "Well, I can try, but my arm is broken, too." After a short pause, he started screaming once again, yelling: "What do I do?! What do I do?! I'll die! I'll die! I'll die! I'm already dead! 99% already dead!" I grabbed him by his shoulders, saying: "Be quiet! If you keep on yelling, the Demon might find us!" He gasped, starting to silently run around in circles.

I turned to face Tanjiro, watching as he was talking to the siblings. What? Why are they here? Are they... "You left her outside?" I asked, a stern look on my face. Both of them shrieked, hiding behind Tanjiro. "You left her? I can't-" I sighed, saying: "No, it's fine. I'm sorry. I'll go get her." This is so stressful, really. Zenitsu is costing me a lot of nerves right now. Tanjiro nodded at me, so I went towards the door. Just as I was about to leave, we heard the sound of a drum, followed by my surroundings changing.

My eyes widened as I was now in a completely different room with only one door. "T-Tanjiro...?" I asked slowly, walking towards the door. I went through a few rooms, being able to notice a few spots where people walked. Even a few, tiny splatters of blood were everywhere. It's rather scary, really.

"I'm going to die! Die!! You hear me?!" That's... "Zenitsu?" I asked out loud, walking towards the door of that room. I opened it, my eyes widening once more at what I was seeing. "A... A boar?" I asked, watching as the boar jumped towards me, two swords ready to strike. I was quick to react and got my sword out, blocking the boar's attack. "You're not a boar. You're a human! Are you a Demon Slayer, too?" I asked, managing to push him back slightly.

Suddenly, he turned away, running. I just stood there, trying to process what in the world just happened. "W-Wait!" I called, chasing after him. I heard the drums again, and the room changed once more.

Tanjiro Pov:

What's going on with this man? He's wearing a pig head and he's carrying blades! "Come on, monster! I'm going to make die out here in the wild! You're going to make me stronger, and be my stepping stone to higher places!" he yelled, jumping towards the Demon that was in the room next to this one.

The drums were heard, changing the room we were in. Teruko, the little girl, screamed as she lost her balance, falling to the floor. "Teruko! Hold on to the furniture!" I told her. Then, the boar man was about to kick me, so I blocked in the last second with my arm, making him jump off of me.

Before he reached the Demon, I yelled: "That thing is a Demon with abilities! Don't swing your swords blindly at it!" "Pisses me off... These little bugs making a mess in my house..." muttered the Demon, hitting his drums a few times. I noticed how the boar man stepped onto Teruko, saying: "The room is spinning around and around! So interesting! So very interesting!"

I quickly grabbed his leg, throwing him in the air, saying: "Don't step on other people like that!" I took Teruko into my arms, hearing him say: "What are you doing, you little brat?" "How could you step on top of such a small child!" "Not bad, not bad! That was a good throw there! This is the first time I've ever been thrown by a human!" He started to get into some sort of fighting stance, about to slash at us.

Why is he coming after me? Isn't he one of the Demon Slayers?! I was about to dodge, but was able to pick up a scent I'd recognize anywhere. The sound of metal colliding was heard, followed by (Y/N) saying: "Stop that." in a threatening tone. The boar man was taken back by her sudden appearance, but simply went to strike again.

"Stop messing around! The Demon is right there!" I called. "I don't care!" yelled the boar man, clashing his swords against (Y/N)'s once more. Just as she was being pushed back by him, the drums of the Demon were heard, and three sharp cuts were thrown our way. We were all able to dodge, with the boar man saying: "Not bad, not bad!"

Again, and again. We dodged attack after attack, with me still holding onto Teruko. "Damn bugs. Damn bugs..." muttered the Demon, before another one of the drums was heard, changing the rooms. That Demon didn't beat his drums. There are multiple Demon scents in this room. Are there other Demos with drums as well? Also... There's the scent of blood.

I let Teruko down, saying: "Follow closely behind me." "Okay..." As soon as I turned the first corner, I saw a body, half eaten by the Demons. I quickly turned to guide Teruko into the other direction, saying: "It's okay. There aren't any Demons here. Let's go over there. Don't turn back. Just go straight ahead." She did just that.

I opened the next door, a weird scent of blood coming from it. There was a boy in there, around my age, holding one of those drums. His eyes widened as he noticed us, going to slap the drum in his arms.
