3rd Person Pov:
A bunch of crescent-shaped moons flew through the dark night, and a heavy breathing could be heard. The man with short, (h/c) hair and almost glowing, (e/c) eyes held his light purple colored blade tightly.
Taking in yet another, deep breath, he concentrated, then unleashed the Moon Breathing, first form, Dark Moon, Evening Palace. It was truly a beautiful sight to be seen. This breathing technique, combined with the man's gentle movements would be overwhelming for everyone who first watched this man train.
But for the small five-year-old girl that sat a distance away, it was nothing new. She had watched her father train almost everyday, memorizing his movement patterns. Smiling, she clapped her small hands together, gaining the man's attention.
He couldn't help but to smile, putting his sword back to where it belonged, before walking up to her. He sat down next to her, asking: "And? What do you say?" She thought for a moment, then said: "That technique looks amazing! I wanna learn it, too!"
Chuckling, he patted her soft, (h/c) hair, saying: "Oh, I'm sure you'll be able to master it one day, (Y/N)." "Really?" she asked, her (e/c) eyes almost shining through the dark night. Nodding, her father said: "Of course. You're just like me when I was your age, you know. You'll be a strong Demon Slayer one day."
"I sure hope so. Then, I can make many friends and protect everyone!" called (Y/N), smiling brightly at her father. Seeing her smile always warmed his heart. To him, who has seen so much death and chaos, seeing his only daughter smile in a world like this was... was indescribable.
It meant that hope wasn't completely lost yet. That there was still at least something worth fighting for. Even after all that he went through... "(Y/N), can you promise me something?" he asked, watching how her happy smile turned into a confused expression.
She only nodded, waiting for him to utter whatever was on his mind. And he did so. "Promise me to always protect the ones closest to you." "Huh? Aren't you already protecting Mommy and Shinya-nii?" she asked, her head slightly tilted.
Letting out another chuckle, he ruffled a hand through her hair, saying: "Of course I am. And I'll always protect you, too." His face then lost its color as he continued: "But we won't always be there for you. Especially when you become a Demon Slayer yourself. I can't always accompany you."
"Why not? You're my dad." she stated, confusion written all over her face. Sighing, he brushed a strand of (h/c) hair out of her face, saying: "You'll understand one day. Just protect the ones you love the most, okay?"
After a short while of silence, she nodded her head, saying: "Okay, I promise. Now you have to promise me something, too." Slightly taken back by her words, Kei asked: "And what may that be?"
Yawning, (Y/N) looked up at her father, saying: "You'll teach me every breathing technique you know." Now that was not what he was expecting. But he couldn't say that that wasn't what he had in mind. So, he ruffled a hand through her hair once more, then smiled, answering: "I promise."
Back to the present:
(Y/N) Pov:
The Demon began attacking me, sending her obi forward with clear intent to kill. I tightened the grip I had on my, now light purple sword, then took in a certain, deep breath. Moon Breathing, first form, Dark Moon, Evening Palace.
The crescent shaped slash easily cut through her obi, causing her to glare at me. Yet she kept her distance. "Why? Why do you kill humans? Is it just for entertainment?" I asked, the anger never stopping to fill up within me.
She grinned, her pointy teeth showing themselves. "I couldn't care less about the lives of ugly beings. They hold no value at all." she said, causing me to grit my teeth. "You were once human, too! You had human emotions, and all!" I called out, ready to attack her any second now.
"Blah, blah, blah. Just shut up. I don't remember anything about my past. I'm a Demon now, so the past has nothing to do with anything." she said, hitting her hand into the ground, smashing the roof she was standing on.
She continued: "Demon's don't age. We don't need money to eat. We don't fall sick. We don't die. We don't lose anything. And strong, beautiful Demons can do anything!" "Is that really how you feel? I'm really sorry for you, then." I said, running towards her.
She activated a Blood Demon Technique, and a bunch of extremely fast obi pieces were moving closer towards me. I swear I was almost able to see the killing intent radiating off of that Demon.
Sun Breathing, Clear Blue Sky. I activated that technique, which allowed me to spin around once, cutting all of the obi into pieces, all while my blade changed its color to black. The Demon was clearly taken back by it, and I took the opening she presented me.
As fast as I could, I ran forwards, taking a swing towards her neck. I tried to cut through it, but her neck immediately turned into an obi, and she growled at me, saying: "There's no way my head will ever be cut off by the likes of you!"
She managed to land a kick at me, sending me sliding back. Luckily, I was prepared, so it didn't cause any damage at all. Her neck is too soft to be cut. I have to be even faster to manage to cut through it.
Without missing even a second, she send around thirteen obi parts towards me. But that wasn't a problem at all. I was still able to see them clearly. Even their movements. So, I dodged them, hitting them all to one side.
"I won't let you cut me this time! It was pure coincidence that you were able to graze my neck earlier!" she yelled, almost causing me to crack a smile. Pure coincidence? We'll see about that.
As soon as I had every piece of obi in one spot, I slammed my sword into them, pinning them to the ground. "Is that supposed to stop me?! I'll send you flying!" she called. I pulled my sword back with all of my might, managing to stretch her obi out.
A slight smirk appeared on my lips as I watched how her confident expression turned into one of pure confusion as Tanjiro cut through the obi, being in front of her in seconds. I, too, lost no time to be face-to-face with her.
Suddenly, Tanjiro dropped to the ground, coughing heavily. That caused my focus to be just slightly off. And so, when I went to try and cut her head off, it didn't work. I'm... too slow.
