Just a quick a/n!

In case you haven't gotten the notification, I published chapter 39 AND 40 today.

I still have a few chapters to write, but I'm currently loving it!

Oh, and they'll all be reunited in the next chapter, I promise!

Anyways, enough of my talk.

Enjoy!

3rd Person Pov:

"Say 'aah'~" said Shinobu, to which Tanjiro did as told. "Yup, there's no problem with your jaw." she stated, clapping her hands together after confirming his health status.

She then said: "I'm sorry, I can't see you all off. But please do your best from now on." "Yes! Thank you so much! Ah, oh yeah, Shinobu-san, there's one more thing I want to ask." said Tanjiro, raising his hand a bit.

"What is it?" "Have you heard about the 'Dance of the Fire God' before?" "I haven't." answered Shinobu quickly, causing Tanjiro to freak out slightly. "Th-Then... What about the breath of fire?" "I haven't."

He then explained what had happened to him over two months ago, while fighting Rui. To that, Shinobu said: "I see. So you used your father's breath of fire for some reason. If you ask a breath of fire user, you may discover something to your interest."

She let out a hum, then noted: "That kind of resembles (Y/N)-chan's story, doesn't it?" Tanjiro nodded, answering: "Yes! But she didn't know where she could've seen those breathing patterns before."

While doing the laundry, Aoi asked: "Is that so? You're leaving already? Our time together was short, but it was great to be able to share it together. Good luck." "Thanks." said Tanjiro, smiling brightly at her.

"Be careful!" she called, folding the cloth she was holding. "You took care of us so much. I'm really thankful for caring for us when you were busy. Thanks to that, we can fight again." he told her, making her look at him for a few seconds.

"Compared to you guys, I'm not doing much, so there's no need for thanks. I'm a wimp who just got lucky in the selections and survived. I couldn't go into battle afterwards because I was afraid." admitted Aoi, taking her eyes off of him.

To that, Tanjiro simply smiled, saying: "That has nothing to do with it. You're already a part of me because you helped me out, Aoi-san. I'll take your emotions into battle with me." Her eyes widened as Tanjiro left, saying: "If I get injured again, I'll be in your care!"

Tanjiro then went to Kanao to say goodbye, finding her sitting on the porch, staring into the garden. "Ah, there you are, Kanao! We're gonna depart now. Thanks for everything." he told her, to which she just smiled.

"You're amazing. We're in the same batch, but you're already a Tsugoku. We're gonna do our best, too." he told her, and she kept silent, just smiling like usual.

...

...

...

She took a coin out, flipping it into the air. She caught it with ease, looking at the symbols that were on the showing side. Then, she said: "I just followed my instructor's orders. There's no reason to give me thanks, so goodbye."

Tanjiro was more than just happy that she finally spoke up. So, he decided to take this opportunity. "What did you flip just now?" he asked her. "Goodbye." she answered, that same, never ending smile on her lips.

"What's that?" "Goodbye." "Money? There's something written on the heads and tails. Why did you flip it?" Kanao held the coin up a bit, answering: "I decided to flip this when I'm not being instructed."

Tanjiro kept his eyes on her as she continued: "I decided whether I should talk to you or not. Heads mean 'I won't talk', and tails means 'I will talk'. It was tails, so I talked. Goodbye." Tanjiro returned her smile, but asked: "Why can't you decide on your own?"

"Kanao, what happened?" he asked, since she kept silent once more. "It doesn't matter. None of this matters. So I can't decide anything on my own." she said, watching as he got closer to her.

"I don't think there's anything in this world that's not worth caring about." he said, looking at the beautiful flowers before them. "I'm sure. You have a small voice in your heart, Kanao. But it's important to abide by your orders, too. Could I borrow that?"

Tanjiro held his hand out, waiting for Kanao to put give the coin to him. She clearly hesitated, then obliged, handing him the coin. With a bright smile, he walked a bit into the garden saying: "Thanks!"

Then, he turned to face her, calling: "Alright! I'll settle this through a flip!" "Settle what?" asked Kanao, slightly confused to what this boy was on about. "About whether or not, from now on, you'll listen to your own heart, Kanao."

With that, he send the coin flying into the air, immediately saying: "I flipped it too high!" Then, he positioned himself to catch it, saying: "Heads! I call heads! If it lands on head, you'll live by what your heart desires, Kanao!"

In the next second, he had caught the coin, saying: "I got it! I got it!" He quickly went over to her, slowly taking the hand covering the coin away. His smile widened as he said: "It's heads!"

Then, he handed her the coin back, saying: "Good luck, Kanao! People are driven by their hearts, so your heart can grow stronger than ever!" She was at a total loss of words, not sure if she could ever process what had just happened.

"Okay, see you again one day!" he said, starting to run off. "Wh-Why did it come out heads?" she asked, making him stop in his movements. He chuckled, saying: "It was by chance. Besides, if it was tails, I planned to flip it lots of times until it landed on heads." With that, he left, leaving her to think about what just happened.

Inosuke stared at the steel giant in front of him, contemplating whether or not he should fight it. Behind him, Zenitsu was bickering with Tanjiro. Well, more like Zenitsu was screaming at poor Tanjiro, who was looking around for his crow, hoping that (Y/N) finally wrote a letter to him.

"Hey!" called Inosuke, trying to gain their attention. "I'm busy now!" yelled Zenitsu, shaking Tanjiro back and forth. "Hey! Hey!!" "Shut up, what is it?!" Now that he finally had their attention, he pointed at the tall vehicle in front of him, asking: "What's that creature here?!"
