~chapter sixty~

3rd Person Pov:

"Tengen-sama, don't mind me, just go ahead. You probably heard the sound a while ago. The demon is going on a rampage." said Hinatsuru, breathing heavily. She had taken poison in order to fall sick and get away from the demon.

Uzui asked: "You sure you're okay?" "Yes... I'm very sorry for not being of any use." she said, her voice weak. Uzui glanced at the obi that Hinatsuru got from Warabihime, that he had pinned to the wall, blood trickling down from it.

He said: "You don't need to do anything anymore. Once the antidote takes effect, get out of Yoshiwara. Understood?" Closing her eyes, Hinatsuru replied: "Okay."

Inosuke, running low on patience, yelled: "You're late! The day's already ended and they still haven't come! Souchirou, (m/n) (mispronounced name), you dummies! I'm gonna make my move! And pig assault the demon!"

He then jumped up, his head now stuck in the ceiling. There, he saw two animals. "Mice! My swords!" he called out to them, watching as the very muscular, buff mice carried his weapons towards him.

Once he got everything, Inosuke discarded his disguise, putting on his usual attire. With his boar mask, of course. And that scared a woman that just so happened to pass by. Not even caring about her, Inosuke said: "Time to kill some demons! Pig assault!"

Deciding to gain some information, Uzui went to the Kyougoku house, where Hinatsuru and Zenitsu were. He sneaked in, holding a kunai to the throat of the owner of the house. The man let out a gasp, and Uzui began to talk.

"What happened to Zenko? Answer quickly. And don't look back." Taking a few, deep breaths, the man decided to answer. "Zenko vanished. She was suddenly gone over night..." he trailed off, sweat rolling down his face.

Uzui ordered: "Say what's on your mind now. Who do you suspect?" The man was clearly hesitating. Whatever he knew was probably the truth. So, Uzui added: "Trust me, and talk. I will definitely kill whoever it is. I will avenge your losses."

Hearing that, the man teared up, thinking to his wife that got killed by the demon. With clear hatred on his expression, he answered: "An Oiran named Warabihime. She lives in a room in the northern part of the building where the sun doesn't reach." With that, Uzui was gone, leaving the man all alone again. 

After checking the demon's room, and seeing that it wasn't there, he went outside, being able to pick up a sound. Stopping in the middle of the road, he suddenly put his head on the ground, being able to hear someone fighting.

He now knew that there was a huge cave underground. So, he took both of his swords into his hand, taking in a certain breath. Breath of the Sound, first form, Roar. With that attack, the ground was open, and Uzui could get into the cave.

Hearing that strange sound, the upper ranked demon asked: "These bugs are an eyesore. What was that sound? What are they doing? Where? Ogimoto house, huh. And now Hinatsuru... How many of you are here? Five?"

Tanjiro quickly said: "Not saying." "If you tell me the truth, I could let you live." she said, slowly walking closer to him. Then, she pointed at his sword, saying: "We clashed a little just now, and your blade is already chipped. Whoever forged that thing must be a pretty crappy blacksmith."

Shaking his head, Tanjiro defended: "No! The one who forged this blade is an amazing person! He's a super skilled blacksmith!" "Then why is it chipped, dumbass? You're beginning to quiver all over the place. You're getting on my nerves now, so I'll kill you with the next blow." said the demon, her expression darkening.

Tanjiro knew he had to do something. With his attacks, he wouldn't be able to deal enough damage. He knew that he had better chances by using the Hinokami Kagura. But because of it's raw strength, he couldn't use it for long. Even so...

The demon began it's attack, but Tanjiro, for some reason, couldn't move. His eyes widened as he could only watch how the obi of the upper moon six closed in on him. 'Eh? I can't move? Why?!' he asked himself, panicking.

Then, his nose picked up a certain scent. One that always caused a warm feeling to spread throughout his whole body. Without a doubt, it was (Y/N). In an instant, she was standing in front of him, taking in a deep breath.

"Water breathing, eleventh form, Dead Calm." she said, her sword held tightly in her hand, yet her body wasn't moving a single inch. Tanjiro was panicking even more, about to ask her what she was doing.

However, he stopped himself as he saw how she easily blocked the demon's attack, leaving the demon wide-eyed. (Y/N) then smiled, saying: "Good think Onii-chan taught me his technique."

She then turned her head, asking: "Tanjiro, you okay?" "Yes!" he called, finally snapping out of his daze. He walked next to her, saying: "The Water Breathing won't be enough. I think we should use the Hinokami Kagura."

Nodding, (Y/N) said: "Alright. Time to see if you're a good teacher." Tanjiro couldn't help but to smile a little, readying himself to attack the demon. They both took in deep breath, activating their powerful techniques.

Hinokami Kagura, Flame Dance.

They both rushed towards the demon, with (Y/N) quickly appearing behind her. Daki barely managed to dodge, some of her obi cut off in the process. Yet, this technique didn't bother her as much. She was still able to keep up with them.

She made her obi attack Tanjiro, aiming to behead him. However, the immense heat that followed caught her off guard. (Y/N) had used another technique, Hinokami Kagura, Fire Wheel. She had jumped over Daki, cleanly cutting through her obi.

Gritting her teeth, she noticed that both of them had suddenly vanished. Turning around, her eyes widened. There was Tanjiro, being able to smell the red thread connecting to her neck. However, as he was about to attack her, Daki said: "So slow. You're making me yawn here.

Then, she used her obi to attack Tanjiro. As it was about to hit him, (Y/N) had used Hinokami Kagura, Dance. She had cut off her obi once more, grinning at the demon.

Landing gracefully in front of Daki, (Y/N) said: "I bet you didn't expect me to be so quick, eh? Well, my mobility is way above average, after all." "Ha, just keep on talking. I'll kill you in no time." replied Daki, going to attack her.
