3rd Person Pov:

Nervously looking at the mist Hashira, the female Demon Slayer waited patiently for him to respond to her statement. He seemed even more confused now, and eventually asked: "What?" Chuckling nervously, she repeated herself. "We're distant relatives. Somehow."

"Distant... relatives?" he asked, tilting his head ever so slightly. Nodding, (Y/N) said: "Yes. Kotetsu said that you're related to the (L/N) family, and that's me! I'm the only one carrying that last name."

"How does that work?" asked Muichiro, clearly still as confused as before. (Y/N) gladly answered his question. "Well, you see, he also said that you're related to the Breath of the Sun users. I think that somewhere, our ancestors belonged to the same family. Maybe as siblings or something."

She kept a kind, yet nervous smile on her lips the whole time. This was her only living, somewhere blood-related, relativ. At least that she knew of. "And I'm very sorry for attacking you earlier! I just wanted to protect those close to me." she apologized, recalling the events that happened prior to this.

Muichiro thought for a moment, saying: "You attacked me... Right, and then... We're related?" "It's a bit hard to grasp, I know. But, apparently, it's true! I don't have a family tree or anything to prove it, but I'm just happy to know that someone with similar blood like mine is still alive!" she said, chuckling a little.

"That doesn't mean anything, does it?" he asked, to which she said: "It might not mean much to you, but it does to me. After the rest of my family died, I was left with Sensei and Onii-chan. I'm just happy that I have other family somewhere in this world."

To that, Muichiro kept silent for a moment. She seemed to mean what she said, and that was confusing to him. Why would she care so much about something so trivial? And yet, something told him not to deny what she said. It was like a voice telling him to accept her words. A voice he very clearly recognized, but couldn't put a name or a face to it.

None the less, he couldn't bring himself to deny (Y/N). So, he said: "We're relatives?" Slightly taken back by his many repeats of the same question, she said: "Uh, yeah?" "Oh, right. I broke my blade, so I'll be taking this one. Dispose of this old one for me." he said, remembering that he took the sword of the puppet.

"O-Okay?" said (Y/N), though it sounded more like a question. He then began walking, saying: "Goodbye, relativ." Smiling a little, (Y/N) waved after him, saying: "Mhm! Hope to see you again soon, Muichiro-san!" With that, she held onto his broken sword, smiling to herself before starting to walk to where she guesses Tanjiro would be.

It suddenly started raining as she neared her partner and Kotetsu, smiling at them. However, her smile quickly dropped as soon as she saw that Kotetsu was standing in front of the broken doll. She slowed down, but decided to join their side anyway.

"Kotetsu-kun, let's just make sure. It might still be able to move." said Tanjiro, trying to lift the boy's spirit up. Kotetsu practically jumped up, and they started to lift the doll up. (Y/N) quickly joined in, helping out to the best of her ability.

"Oh, you're back already?" asked Tanjiro, having finally noticed her. "Yeah. It went well, I'd say? I'm not sure, but I guess I have another blood-relativ." she said, chuckling. Tanjiro smiled at her, saying: "I'm happy for you!" "Thank you!" she replied, returning his smile.

After the three of them had placed the doll back on its feet, Kotetsu sighed sadly, saying: "Not moving... So I guess it's-" However, he was cut off as the doll suddenly began moving, taking an attacking stance.

The long-time-partners began cheering, throwing their arms in the air, with Tanjiro saying: "Yes! It's moving, Kotetsu-kun! Good for-" "It is, Tanjiro-san, (Y/N)-san. Now train." said Kotetsu, cutting Tanjiro off.

Taken back by his sudden request, (Y/N) asked: "What? But it might break for real this time." "Please. Become stronger than that shitty, indifferent jerk! I'll help you with all I've got!" He then folded his arms in front of his chest.

"Please become stronger, you two. And then, say this to him. 'That all you got, you piece of crap? Your hair's too long. Cut it, kelphead. Runt. Clumsy peglegs. Slice your belly open, shameless punk.'" requested Kotetsu, nodding once to undermine that he really meant what he said.

"Kotetsu-kun?! That's a little too-" tried Tanjiro, but Kotetsu said: "Is it better to slice his head off and hang it from the prison gate?" "What?! No, it's not! We can't say that!" said (Y/N), not liking these sudden, dark words from Kotetsu.

Time skip: an hour later

3rd Person Pov:

Getting hit by a few swords, Tanjiro managed to block them partly, still being flung away. "Tanjiro!" called (Y/N), immediately jumping between him and the doll, blocking the next few attacks of the doll with the old, chipped sword of Muichiro.

This continued for a while, until Tanjiro, using an old training sword as weapon, managed to get up, backing her up. They both took in deep breaths, starting to sync their movements in order to not hurt the other while still fending off the doll's attack.

Kotetsu watched in awe, his eyes wide underneath his mask. The two Demon Slayers were moving incredible. Too slow and sloppy, but their teamwork was working out great for them. It was clear to anyone that they had trained a lot together in the past.

"Ouch! That hurt!" called (Y/N), having been hit by one of the five swords, sliding quite a bit back. Tanjiro blocked another attack, glancing back at her, asking: "Are you okay?! Wah!" He was suddenly hit, too, falling over in the process.

"Tanjiro! You alright?" asked (Y/N) walking up to him as Kotetsu turned the doll off. Tanjiro released a heavy sigh, saying: "We're gonna die. Six arms are a little rough." Kotetsu scoffed, placing both of his hands onto his hips.

He said: "It has five arms now. That shitty brat broke one off, so its battle capability has decreased. If you two die from this, you'll be nothing more than crap. Do your best. I'll say it one more time, so lift your head!"

The young couple looked at the kid in front of them, waiting for him to speak, which he did. "You're moving by habit. You're not making decisions after watching your opponent's movements. That's why nothing's working for you. Get it? I'm surprised you both managed to synchronize your movements, but that alone won't get you far in a real fight. Anyway, you both won't be getting any food until you're both better at fighting!"

"Please... have mercy..." muttered (Y/N) out, collapsing on the ground from exhaustion. Tanjiro, too, sat down, saying: "Okay..." "Tanjiro, we've been training for an hour straight... I need a break." said (Y/N), to which Kotetsu quickly said: "No breaks unless I say so! Come on, continue!"
