Random question: what is one song that you know that reminds you of Josh and Maya's relationship in the show?

The next day was a little better than the last, at least as far as being sore and how Maya's body felt. Her shoulder was still in a lot of pain. But it didn't hurt as much to breath. Her ribs still hurt a lot but it wasn't as bad as it had been.

Josh had to help her wrap them every morning and every night. The pressure the wraps put on made it feel better, but she also winced as he took them off because of how tender her bruises still were.

She was able to sleep through the night now, and she was getting used to the cuts and Bruises on her face. Her doctor told her that it would be a couple of weeks before those cleared up, and at least a month before the rest of her body started to feel a bit normal.

Of course, the only thing that was going to help her shoulder was physical therapy. And as of right now that was her main concern. She didn't care about anything else that her bosses through at her, as long as she could be back in tip top shape by the time three months passed by.

"I would feel a lot better if everything they're going to tell me today came from you first." Maya stated as Josh finished helping her put on her leather jacket.

"I just don't want you to feel overwhelmed." He told her as he helped take her hair out from behind the jacket. Maya turned around once he was done to face him.

"Even if I do, it would help knowing what I'm about to walk into." She told him. Josh stared at her for a moment before nodding his head.

"They want you to give a public apology on national television for what happened the day the bombs were being threatened. How you argued and made a scene. They want you to start going to one of the FBI's support group for undercover cops who deal with PTSD, physical therapy obviously, and you have to under go counseling and a psychiatric evaluation to see if you're ready to go back to work in the next three months."

"They sure don't ask for much, do they?" Maya stated sarcastically. Josh gave her a look.

"Well actually, I think it's a pretty fair deal considering you really should have been fired for everything you pulled during this case." He told her with brutal honesty. Maya glared at him. She knew he was right, but she wasn't going to give him that satisfaction.

"I'm going to be late." She grumbled as she glanced at the clock and realized that she only had twenty minutes to be there.

"Let's go." Josh grabbed his keys and walked her out the door.

The car ride was silent. The silent question of 'what are we?' Hung between them. Neither one of them asking it, but both of them thinking it. The last few nights had been them spending in each other's arms, as if no time had passed between them at all. Both of them focusing on Maya's health more than talking about what they were becoming.

Josh wanted to give Maya the space she needed to cope with everything. She had just gotten back from three months of being undercover and now had to wait another three months to go back to work. During those three months she was going to have to recover and do a lot just to be able to keep her job. He wasn't sure if him being there was helping her or causing her more stress. He didn't want their relationship to be another thing on top of the pile of things they already have.

For Maya, everything was so jumbled in her head. The only thing that really seemed to be on her mind was making sure David went so far under that there was no way he could dig himself up. She wanted him to pay for everything that he had put her through, everything he had put her team through.
