Farkaya?

Thanks for bearing with me guys! Here's chapter two.

I walked into the room with Josh right behind me. I turned and sat down beside Farkle who gave me a "we'll talk later." Look. I just nodded and turned my attention to Smackle who was standing in front of the table with a remote in her hands and a folder in front of her.

"Okay. There was a little girl that went missing at the Empire State Building. Her mother turned around for a second at what the police figures was a distraction so they could snatch the girl. When the mother turned around the little girl was gone." Smackle explained making my heart immediately break.

"Wasn't there a girl who went missing up at the Statue of Liberty last week?" Farkle asked as he put his finger on his chin.

"Yeah and another one at the nine eleven memorial." Zay said. It was a pattern.

"That's exactly why they are calling me. It's happened three times now and all three times it's been the same way. Somebody would cause a distraction and as the mother would look away the little girl would be gone." Smackle explained. Lucas clenched his fist and shook his head. Theses types of cases always got personal with him.

"Do that have any leads?" Farkle asked as he was writing everything that Smackle was saying down in a notebook.

"They have interviewed a few people but none of them have stuck. We're going full beginner here." Everyone sighed as they nodded their heads, including me.

"Okay. So when we get there I want Zay and Mia to go back over the files of the people that they have interviewed, I want to make sure they didn't make any mistakes by letting them go. Lucas I want you and Farkle to hang back with the police at the station and profile our guy, try to figure out his next move. Maya and I will head to each crime scene and see if we can't pick something up that they didn't. And Smackle you just do whatever it is that you do." Josh said as he got the filed together and got out of his chair. "Is there a problem?" He asked when he realized that none of us were getting up to follow him.

"It's just that, Maya and I are the ones that usually go out into the field together." Farkle said. I scoffed, I knew exactly what Josh was trying to do.

"Well maybe it's time to try something a little different." Josh answered making both Farkle and I sigh. "Let's go the more we sit around the less chances are those kids are alive!" Josh said making everyone jump up into action. I grabbed my jacket that was on my chair by my desk when I came out of the meeting room.

"I can't believe this." Farkle grumbled as he came up beside me to do the same thing I did at his desk. I shook my head.

"I know. I can't believe he thinks that he can come back after all this time and expect everything to be okay." I said as I watched Josh and Lucas talk by a corner. Probably about Riley.

"No not that! The fact that he thinks he can split the two of us up! We have always been paired up together on cases and now he's ruining that just because he's the boss and he can." Farkle said angry making me look at him with sympathy.

Farkle and I have always made the better team when it comes to anyone in here. Him and I have been able to solve cases together more than anyone else in this district. We both just have a better connection then we do with anyone else. I think it's because we have been friends for most of our lives and because of that our friendship and partnership as always been able to out weigh anyone else's.

"I'm sorry Farkle. But hey it's just got this one case." I said. Once Josh see's how well Farkle and I are together, he'll have to put us back together. Farkle scoffed as he shook his head.

"Doubt it. Not as long as he loves you." Farkle said making me narrow my eyes at him.

"What are you talking about? Josh and I are history." I said shaking me head at the thought of Josh and I ever being together again.

"Common Maya. It's obvious. He hasn't been able to keep his eyes off of you since he came through the door." I shook my head. Farkle had to be over exaggerating.

"Him and I had words when he came in, it was probably a look of pure hatred."

"Maya he's jealous." Farkle said making me shake my head.

"No offense Farkle but why would he be jealous of you?" I asked making Farkle laugh.

"Because I have such a close relationship with you! Maya he's always been jealous of me when it came to you, even back when you two were dating!" Farkle said as he pulled a bag out from under his desk.

"I don't follow." I was genuinely confused. How could Josh be jealous of my friendship with Farkle?"

"Look Maya. You, Riley and I have been best friends since we could walk. We were like the three musketeers. But then when Lucas came into the picture and swept Riley off her feet, you and I got closer as friends and began to hang out more often just the two of us. That's when Josh got jealous and felt threatened. And now that he's back he still has feelings for you and because of that he's going to do anything he can to keep you and I away from each other." Farkle explained. Now it all kind of made sense.

"You mean Josh is scared that you and I are going to end up together one day?" I asked in disbelief. Farkle just nodded.

"Yep! In fact I bet he won't even let us in the same car together." Farkle said making me laugh.

"Okay now you're just being ridiculous." I said as I turned around.

"Alright! Mia and Zay in one car, Lucas and Farkle in the other. Maya and I will take my car." Josh said not even looking up from his file that he was "reading." I just let my mouth drop. I can't believe this! I turned to Farkle who had a 'told ya so' look. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"This is just ridiculous! We're supposed to be adults working for the government. Not high schoolers that can't make up their minds of who they want to date! I'm sorry that he's being a jerk Farkle but whatever he's doing isn't going to work. Josh and I are done, we are never getting back together in this life time and I will make sure of that! All he is to me from now on is my boss add that's it. Now let's go we have kids to find." I put my bag on my shoulder and made it outside to my car.

So yeah the friendships and relationships are a little different in this story then any of my other ones. I think Farkaya is what Maya and Farkle's ship name is... Oh well.
