Chapter three!

"I can't believe you are acting this way! You are supposed to be the leader of this team, the one that we count on to lead us into calls! Not this immature little brat that it literally making a scene because he's not getting what he wants!" I yelled into the face that has grown to make me sick. Josh held my car keys up high above my head as I struggled to try and reach up to get them."And yet you're the one that's yelling in front of everyone in a public parking lot." Josh teased with a smirk on his face. I took a deep breath and turned around to see our entire team standing there awkwardly as they waited for us to get our crap together plus some other people who were staring as they walked by. I sighed as I turned around knowing that I had no other choice then to practically beg him to give me my keys back.
"Josh." I said as he brought the keys behind his back and smiled at me. Oh what I would give to smack it right off his facial features. "Would you please give me my keys back?" I asked while gritting my teeth just letting him know how much I hated him right now.
"Sure. I'll give you your keys back. As soon as we get to where we're going." Josh stated making me inwardly groan. I should have known he would try something like this.
"Look guys. I understand that it's awkward between you two Considering you haven't seen each other in a while. But there is somewhere a scared little girl who would love nothing but to be back with her family right now. I think we owe it to her to make sure that happens." Farkle said as he walked over and quietly whispered to us. And then just like that it's like Josh's entire demeanor changed.
"Turtleneck is right." Josh stated making Farkle glare at him. "Let's move out." He said as I said goodbye to Farkle and turned around only to have Josh open the door for me from his car. "After you." He said making me roll my eyes and get in his car.
As we all pulled out to go to the place we were going, I put my phone on speaker phone as we dialed into Farkle's phone.
"Talk to me Farkle, what have you profiled about our guy so far?" I asked. I could hear the frustration in Farkle's voice which told me that he had pretty much nothing.
"I don't know. Mia didn't give me the entire file. I'm just going to have to wait until we get to the police station to find out. What about you babe, do you have anything?" Farkle asked me. I noticed from the corner of my eye Josh had gripped the steering wheel a little tighter than usual. I rolled my eyes at that small little fact. Farkle has always called me babe, even when Josh and I were dating in the past. He never had a problem with it then.
"I'm not sure. It's interesting how he is only targeting little girls around the ages of 6 and 8." I said truly wondering what this guy wanted.
"Sex maybe?" Farkle asked making me cringe and Josh once again tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
"I hope not. I've had to many of those cases this year." I said. I hated cases like that, I'm never able to keep my cool when it comes to interrogation.
"Look let's just weigh out our options here." Josh spoke up. We may not be on good terms but for right now he is my new boss. So I sat back and listened to what he had to say. "Over the past few weeks there have been kidnapping of the same kind of kids. All of them have been blond, 6 to 8 years old, blue eyes and they have all been taken by the same mo and by the same people. They wait about a week every time before taking another girl. What does that tell you?" Josh asked particularly me. I took a minute before me and Farkle sighed at the same time.
"Slavery?" Farkle asked as I nodded my head.
"They could be selling each kid off as they take them." I said shaking my head at the thought. Who could be so sick as to do something like that! Josh didn't say anything. He just kept looking at the road as we followed Farkle and Zay's car.
"I'll fill in the rest of the team before we get there and let them know." Farkle said right before he hung up the phone. That was the last thing I wanted him to do. I was hoping that Farkle would stay on the phone so I wouldn't have to sit here with Josh. Alone.
I sat back in my seat and tapped my fingers on my lap as I just awkwardly looked out the window. This is the first time that I have ever really been alone with Josh since that night back in what was our shared apartment up in Manhattan three years ago. I glanced over at Josh to see him focused on the road. A little to focused if you ask me. That usually meant he was thinking about something a little to much.
Every few seconds he would clench and unclench his jaw, his hands would tighten around the steering wheel and then un tighten them, his shoulders were tensed. I sighed as I realized he was angry about something.
"Are you... Okay?" I asked awkwardly making him do a side glance at me before returning to the road. Just when I thought he wasn't about to speak he sighed before continuing.
"I hate this job. I love it but I hate it." I raised my eye brow at him. Josh always had issues with being an agent But he never voiced them to me, even when we were together.
"Everyone has something we hate about this job." I replied. It was true. This job always brought out the best and worst of the agents that worked on the force. Josh shook his head.
"It isn't fair. Somewhere right now are three little kids that are scared out of their minds because they were ripped from their home and taken to God only knows where doing God only knows what." Josh said angry as I knew it was everything it took in him to not let out his frustration on the steering wheel. I smiled as I saw some of the old Josh peeking out.
"We'll find them, Josh." I whispered making him look over at me and swallow hard. He sighed as he returned his attention back to the road. Nothin else was said between us the rest of the trip.

That took me a while. I'm literally getting so emotional over the case that I'm writing for them.
