Board. That was the word that came into Maya's head as she moved her leg up and down during her support group meeting. She heard the stories that people were going through, the addiction, the abuse, the heartache. She sympathized with them, she really did. But it was her job to find out who did it to them, not be their support pal."Maya. Why don't you share some. You've been very quiet today." The leader told her. Maya shook her head.
"I've got nothing to tell. I've already said everything that I need to say before and until I can go back to work I'm stuck here listening to all of you." Maybe she was being a cold hearted witch. But right now all she cared about was getting her gun and badge back and being back in the field. She could care less about the looks she was getting from all around the room.
"I sense a sort of bitterness in you, Agent Hunter." Maya smiled sarcastically.
"Sorry, I didn't get my lucky charms this morning." She told them. The leader sighed as she fronted up in her seat.
"May I remind you that I hold the key to you being able to go back to work. If I don't feel sign that you have completed this support group than your therapist can't sign for you to go back to work." Maya tensed her jaw.
"Humor me." She replied. Josh said he would get her out of this if he needed to, she was holding him to that.
"Agent Hunter, we have all shared what is bothering us except for you. Let us be there for you, tell us what's going on." She told Maya. Suddenly someone had started to laugh. Maya looked over and saw the same guy that she had talked to yesterday about the bombing. She glared at him.
"Agent Hunter isn't going to talk about the bombing because she was one of the only ones that saw what happened to her partner that day." Maya narrowed her eyes at this guy.
"Mr. Casey this is something that Maya needs to answer." The leader told him as she looked back over at Maya.
"But she's not going to. We'd have better luck watching the footage on YouTube to try and figure it out ourselves." Maya shook her head. She knew what he was doing. He was trying to manipulate her into telling them what happened that day.
"Look. Even if I wanted to talk about what happened that day. It's police confidentiality." Maya stated as she glared at Casey. Casey shrugged his shoulders.
"Why of course, that's why they told you to come spill your guts at a support group." He told her. Maya scoffed.
"Bite me." She snapped. He smirked at her.
"Anytime. You'll know where to find me, Agent." He teased her. Maya started to get out of her seat with her handcuffs but she was stopped.
"Hey, alright let's calm down!" The leader spoke up as everyone started to stare wide eyes at the altercation between the two. Maya laughed as she shook her head.
"You know what, this just isn't working out. I'm sorry, thank you for your help but I think I'll stick to the streets." Maya told them as she grabbed her coat and started walking out.
"Agent!" The leader yelled out for her, but it was too late. Maya had already walked out the door.
~
"Where is he?" She asked as the elevator doors opened to headquarters and she walked up to the team that was currently at their desk."He's in his office." Zay spoke up and said. Maya started walking to his door.
"He's in a meeting, Maya!" Farkle yelled after her but she didn't care at the moment. Maya opened Josh's door and walked right in.
