Sorry for the long wait y'all! Its been kind of stressful with everything going on with my school work. But I have another chapter for you and I think that you guys will really like it!

"Josh." Maya said as there was silence between them for a few moments, Josh still hesitated on saying anything to her. He knew how Maya could be, and him withholding this information could be horrible for him. He sighed as he put his head down for a moment before bringing it back up to meet her eyes.

"When they brought the case to me, they brought everything to me that had to do with these drug dealers that they have leads on for this particular drug. I went through the case, and what I found out was what I was so adamant about not letting you go under." Maya kept her gaze on him intensely. Josh stared up at her eyes before swallowing hard and rubbing circles on her hands. "Three weeks ago, the top two guys that are in charge of the whole drug operation were making a deal in one of the buildings that are up in Manhattan, the same building this team got called to for a call." Josh stopped talking as he knew the next few sentences were brutal.

"Spit it out Josh." Maya said as she herself was starting to become very weary of the situation. Josh squeezed her hands as he continued to think about what he was going to say.

"When your team got there and went into the building, the drug dealers were notified that the feds were here and they set off a bomb to cause a distraction so they could get out of the building." Maya's eyes widened as her grip on Josh's hands loosened. She shook her head at the words that were registering in her mind. "They were the ones that set off the bomb that killed Carrie." Maya got off of Josh's lap and kept shaking her head at what she was hearing.

"I cant-" Maya stuttered. "How?" She asked her voice sounding broken. Josh swallowed hard.

"They knew that if they made a drug sell or said they were with some hostages, that the feds would be called in eventually. That's why they chose one of the main buildings up in Manhattan. They set up the bomb downstairs and placed their men at the entrance so that they would be waiting for when the team came in. They wanted to wipe out your whole team." Josh told her. Maya shook her head.

"Why?" She asked as she crossed her arms around herself. Josh took a deep breath before standing up in front of her.

"Because Carrie was working undercover with the same team that wants you to go under, to try and shut down the drug operation. Her cover was blown and they found out who she was."

Maya's whole world felt like it was blown apart. Everything she knew about Carrie's death was a set up.

"She would have told me!" Maya yelled slightly at Josh. Josh shook his head at her.

"She couldn't, it was top secret. The only people who knew were Carrie and Mia." Josh told her. Maya narrowed her eyebrows.

"Mia? Mia knew about this?" She asked. Josh nodded her head.

"She had to because she was team leader. They had to go through her to get to Carrie." Josh told her. Maya shook her head as she started at the door. Josh grabbed her hand and turned her back towards him. "You can not go off on Mia, Maya. She was only doing her job just like I am trying to do with you." Josh told her. Maya shook her head angrily.

"She still could have told us even after Carrie's death! Her funeral! Her family should have had the closure of why Carrie was killed instead of it just being a bomb going off! They didnt get that because there were too many people being selfish!" Maya told him. Josh shook his head and brought her into a hug. She fought him a little bit until she finally just gave in and gripped his dress shirt as she cried. Josh kept his grip on her waist and pulled her even closer then what she was. "Carrie was my partner, I lost a partner!" Maya cried. Josh nodded his head as she cried.

"I know, and I'm so sorry." He whispered. After a while of Maya crying and Josh holding her she pulled back and wiped her eyes with the sleeve of her shirt. She frowned when she saw the tear stains with the slight mascara marks on his shirt.

"Sorry." She said. Josh shrugged his shoulders.

"I have extra." He said. Maya shook her head as she walked past Josh and further into the office. She sat down on the couch he had in it and rested her elbows on her knees as she was leaning up over the couch.

"What do I have to do?" She asked as she looked up at Josh. Josh shook his head.

"Maya you dont have to do this." He said as he went to go sit on a chair across from her. Suddenly a face that he had never really seen before came up on  Maya's face.

"Those sons of bitches killed my partner, I'm going under." She said darkly. Josh thought about arguing with her but he knew it wouldn't do any good.

"Because you were in the building, they have no idea that you are part of the FBI. The only people that saw you of their guys are dead. They either died from you and Carrie shooting them or from the explosion. Because they dont know who you are, that's why they have you going under. We would have to make an excuse as to why you are not taking this case with us because they dont want this team to know that you are going under-"

"No." Maya said cutting Josh off. "The team need to know if they are working the case. They're going to come across me when they are going through suspects and it wouldn't be fair to keep it from them. They also need to know about what really happened that day." Josh hesitated before nodding his head.

"That's your call." Josh told her as he looked at the ground. Maya nodded.

"I'm gonna get these guys, Josh. Even if it is the last thing that I do, I promise you I will avenge Carrie's death." Maya said with that same dark look in her eye. She got up from the couch and walked out the office door to go talk to her team.

Things are going to get really interesting with Josh and Maya now that Maya is about to go undercover. I hoped you guys liked that chapter! Till next time!
