"This is bad. This is really, really bad." Michael muttered as they were seated down for dinner that day. Maya had just gotten done telling him everything that happened between her and David in his office and he certainly seemed to be taking the news well.

"What's bad?" She asked him. He gave her a look, Maya rolled her eyes. "I mean obviously you've put together something I haven't." She told him. He shook his head.

"No." He told her. "If he's planning on moving everything and everyone to LA, then whatever he's planning is something lethal. Maya, you're going to have to do whatever it takes to get him to tell you." He told her.

"I'm aware." Maya snapped at him. "He said the money from the charity ball was going to be what paid for whatever it is."

"Which means that whatever it is, it's expensive. He's going to be making millions of dollars easily at this event. He's got some big time people coming. Supporters he's had for years. Did he ever say why he was doing whatever it is he's doing?" Maya shook her head.

"No. But he's got his mind set. I don't think it would be wise to even try and change his mind." Maya stated. Michael shook his head.

"No. You'd be smart to just keep your mouth shut about it. We'll have to take him down, there is no way he'll change his mind." He told her. "Maybe if we can head him off at the charity event. Do something to make sure he doesn't get that money. That would be a good first step to ruining his plan."

"Is that smart?" She asked him. "He's already suspicious about you and there are only very few people that he's told about all of this."

"I knew he was going to use the money for something, I just didn't know what. He told you that he was using it to get even with the people of New York. That's new information. As long as you keep by him during the charity event, he won't suspect you." Michael told her. Maya narrowed her eyebrows.

"What about you?" There was a look that came across Michaels face. But before Maya could comment on it, it was gone.

"Don't worry about me, you'll get killed by doing that. You worry about your job, and let me worry about mine." He told her sternly.

"Are you going to tell me how you're going to stop the charity event?" She asked him.

"I'm not going to stop the charity event. But I'm not going to tell you what I'm going to do either. The less you know the better." He told her.

"I don't like being left out like this." She told him. Michael glared at her.

"If you want to stay alive, you won't argue. Remember what I told you? You have to trust me like I was your partner." Maya still felt uncomfortable with that statement.

Partners were supposed to trust each other, but that trust wasn't just given. She knew that every single member on her team would have her back because they have proven it. Michael hasn't proven anything to her. He wasn't giving her any of the information she needed, at this rate she had no clue if she were anywhere close to being done with this case. Not when her "partner" isn't giving her anything to work with.

The rest of the day, Maya had to come home with something so David wouldn't get suspicious of what she had been doing for all that time with Michael. So she picked out a new dress and shoes for the charity event that weekend.

It was eight when they finally got back to the house. Maya making her way to her room and dropping all her things off on the bed. In any other circumstances, she would have loved wearing this dress. Red, which was Josh's favorite color on her.

A smile came on Maya's face as she thought about Josh, and what his reaction may be if she had worn it in front of him. How his eyes would light up, his eyes would darken and his pupils would dilate. The way his mouth would slightly drop and then he would lick his lips to keep them from going dry. It was his reaction anytime he saw Maya dressed up, but especially Red. Not only was it his favorite color on Maya, but it was his favorite color all together.

But she would never be able to wear it for him. Not after she wore it for David. That wouldn't be right to Josh. She wondered what he would say if he knew she was going to wear something like this for another man.

Eventually her mind wondered to Farkle, she hadn't really been able to talk with him much when she was over there that last time. She wondered how Riley and Lucas were. She thought about what Michael had said. How he had been undercover for two years and hadn't been able to see his family. Maya couldn't spend that long without seeing her friends and family. She wouldn't last.

It had only been a week since she had seen them. And she thought she was going to go crazy. But before that it had been three months. Three months since she had started going undercover. Three months since she had the chance to sleep in her own bed. Three months since she started pretending.

Maya thought back to her dinner with Michael and kept running his words back over in her mind. How he thought that whatever David was planning, it had to be lethal. What could it be that he's planning? And why does he need millions of dollars to plan it. She shook her head. She didn't understand, she couldn't understand.
