As Maya walked out of the room, David grabbed her hand and clasped their fingers together. If it weren't for the seriousness that David showed, she would have fought him on it. But something told her that she should keep her mouth shut for now.

David led Maya up to his office and turned around right before heading through the door. Maya couldn't help but have a look of panic on her face. David's expression suddenly softened and he smiled down at her. He placed his hands on her shoulders.

"It's alright. I know that this might come of a shock to you. But I think it's time to slowly start introducing you into the business." He told her. Maya didn't say anything. She couldn't help but feel a bit of fear creep up into her stomach. "It's alright." He told her softly. "I'll be with you the whole time. Just stay by my side and don't say a word." He told her narrowing his eyes at her. Maya nodded her head. It's all she could do, she could find the words to speak. David turned back around and gripped her hand in his. He opened the door and brought them inside.

The first thing that caught Maya's eye were the three men that she had saw down in the courtyard below her window talking. The two buff men were holding a frightened looking man with ragged looking clothing and matted hair. It looks as if he was just pulled in from the streets.

Then there was David's nephew. He was over in the corner looking like he was about to throw up. Maya locked eyes with him, and suddenly she knew she wasn't the only who was scared of what was going on.

"Hold him up, fellas." David told them as he dropped Maya's hand. Maya took a step backwards as she watched what he was doing. David stepped forward and without wanting he punched the man that was being held up by his two men right in the face. Maya couldn't hold on her gasp. David looked over at her and smiled.

"It's okay, sugar. I told you it would be a lot to take in." He smirked at her. Bastard.

"Please. I'm sorry!" The man sobbed as the two men held him up higher and David started throwing punch after punch. The man whimpered and David's nephew spoke up.

"David please!" David stopped and looked over at his nephew. Maya has tears shining in her eyes, and she wasn't the only one. "H- he messed up. I'm sure he'll do better." The kid said. David pursed his lips together.

"Come here, Max." He nodded his nephew over. Max shook his head and tried to move further away from. David rolled his eyes. "Max, honestly. Don't you think it's time that you started doing this as well?" He told him. "Come here." He demanded. It was almost like a father demanding his child obey.

Max hesitantly walked over to where David stood. David put his hand behind his back and pulled out a gun from the waistband of his jeans. He held it out to Max for him to take. But max shook his head as tears started rolling down his face. Maya's heart broke.

"Take the gun, Max." He told his nephew. Max shook his head as he tried to step back. David sighed. "It's okay. It will get better as time goes on. You'll get used to it now take the gun." He spoke to his nephew in almost a loving tone. As though he were just trying to teach him.

Max took the gun from David with shaking hands. David smiled at him and grabbed his shoulders to push him into the spot where he was just standing. Maya felt sick, he wasn't going to actually make his nephew do this?

"Max, look at this man. He betrayed us. He went to the police." David told his nephew over his shoulder. He placed his hand on Max's and lifted his arm so the gun was pointing straight at the mans head. The man started whimpering out pleas and struggling against the two men who were holding him. But it was no use.
