Maya sighed as she stared out her bedroom window that overlooked the grounds. Her and Max had been talking about ways to get in touch with her team to let them know about Michael. They both agreed that it was way too risky for Maya to ask David if she could go run some errands.

Luckily, David had asked Max if he could go and run some errands for him. So Max said that he would go into headquarters and talk to her team. Tell them what happened and see what was going to happen next. That was two hours ago.

Maya had been staying in her room the last three days, away from everything and everyone. Max had been coming in and out to give her food and make sure she was taken care of. Maya knew that David had told him to, but he would have done it anyway

Maya didn't want to even look at David right now. She couldn't look at him. She was sick just even thinking about him. She had been waking up from nightmares the last three nights, what happened to Michael seemed to be permanently edged in her brain. She should have done something, anything.

A knock on her door, Maya didn't answer back. She knew it was too soon for Max to be back. And she didn't want anything to do with David right now. She hoped he would go away. The door opened, but Maya didn't turn around.

"Josie." David called out to her. "I haven't seen you in three days. I'm starting to get a little worried." He told her as he shut the door behind him and walked further into the room. Maya still didn't say anything. She couldn't. She kept staring out the window. "Max says you're doing fine, but you won't talk to anyone." Still she said nothing.

She heard the sound of her bed creaking. There was silence between them for a few more minutes. Maya still refusing to say anything.

"Josie, I know you really liked him. But James-I mean- Michael." He said the name with disgust. "He was FBI, he betrayed me. He used you to get to me. To get to all my plans. He needed to be brought down."

"He was a human being." Maya's tone was raspy, so full of emotion. "He was a person. And you took his life." Maya told him. She could hear the sharp intake of breath that he gave.

"He gave his life to me the day he signed on to be my partner." David said. Maya felt anger surge through her. She turned around and glared at David.

"You don't even care. You're not even sorry about it. How could someone just take another persons life like that out of cold blood? Just because of some selfish motive." Maya stated. David Abruptly stood up to face her.

"I did it for us! Nobody understands that I do the things I do for the people I love! For the people I care about! You and Max, neither of you understand that I do this for you!" He yelled.

"You don't do this for us! You do it for you! Because if you truly did things for us than you would be able to open your eyes and see that we're miserable!" Maya yelled back.

"What are you saying? You want to leave?" David asked her. Maya scoffed.

"Like I have a choice. If I were to even try to walk out of this house alone, you'd probably kill me, too!" She remarked. David's eyes got hard and cold.

"Is that what this is about? You're afraid that I will kill you like I did Michael?" He asked her in a hard tone. Maya scoffed and turned back towards the window. "I had to kill him because he betrayed me! Are you planning on betraying me, too, Josie?" He asked her. When Maya didn't turn around, he grabbed her shoulder and roughly turned around, only to be greeted by a punch to the nose.

David stumbled back. He brought his hand up to his nose and felt the blood. He pulled it down and looked at it before turning his gaze up towards Maya, who was seething.

"I don't care how powerful you think you are. You're not going to lay a threatening hand on me. I won't allow it. I might be stuck here with you, but I'm not your puppet." Maya told him. David just continued to stare at her, as if he was truly seeing her for the first time.

Maya felt her anger wash over her and then disappear. Fear started to creep up instead. Oh wow, she just hit him. She just socked him right in the nose for something that he may not have been about to do. She was as good as dead.

"You should get some rest. I'll tell Max to bring you dinner once he gets back." David whispered to her before he turned around and walked out the door. He didn't look back as he slammed it shut behind him.

Maya was still breathing heavy. She blinked rapidly a few times before she felt a knees go weak a little. She leaned back against her window so she wouldn't go off into the floor. She closed her eyes and focused on her breathing. The last thing she needed was to have a panic attack.

She couldn't believe what she had just done. When he grabbed her, she got flashes of what her father used to do to her mother in front of her. The way he would grab her, turn her around and then deck her right in the face. Maya had swore she would never let that happen to her. She panicked.

She was really going to have to answer for this one later. She could almost hear Michael's voice in her head. He would have so raked her over the coals for this one.

Maya sighed and turned back around towards the window. She kept looking out, thinking that the view was the best thing about this job. She wondered how the team had taken the news about Michael. How Max was doing surrounded by a bunch of FBI agents. How Josh was.

Maya sighed as she thought about Josh. Thinking of him seemed to be the only thing that was getting her through this case. She couldn't wait till this whole nightmare was over, and she could get back into his arms.
