"You did what?" Max gasped out as Maya had just gotten done telling him everything.

"I know, I shouldn't have done it." Maya told him. Max was still looking at her like she was crazy.

"You punched him, and you're still alive?" Max asked her shocked. "Maya you can't do things like that. You're already slightly treading on dangerous waters with him." Maya nodded her head.

"So how did the guys take it?" Maya asked him, desperate for a subject change. Max frowned, but didn't say anything. Instead he played along.

"They were shocked, angry, worried. Pretty much everything you said they would be. I think they're working out something now. They said they would try to get ahold of Peterson." Max told her. Maya nodded her head. "So what do we do?" Max asked her.

"We need to get the ball rolling. There's a drawer in David's desk that I've noticed he's more protective of than any of the others. Anytime I've ever come into the room, or anyone he closes it real quick and tends to stay beside it just Incase anyone tries to go over and  look into it. That's the drawer we need to get into." Maya told him.

"And how are we going to do that?" Max asked her.

"You said that David has meetings all day tomorrow away from the house?" Maya said. Max nodded. "That's when we'll do it."

"That's not going to work. He's going to want to take you with him tomorrow. He says it's more of a way to spend time with each other, but I think it's his way of trying to get that trust back. He's still suspicious of you, I think it has more to do with how your relationship with Michael appeared to be to him." Max told her. Maya nodded her head.

"Yes, but I have something that he never anticipated on me having." Maya told him.

"What?" He asked, his eyebrows narrowing.

"You." Maya stated.

"You want me to sneak into his office and get into his desk drawer? I can't do that! He's got cameras in that office, he'll know!" Max panicked as he reached up and ran a hand through his hair.

"Max, look at me." Maya stated as she grabbed his hands and made him look at her.

"I can't Maya, I can't. He'll kill me. I know I'm family, but he won't care." Max told her. Maya shook her head.

"I'm not going to let anything happen to you. We're going to get through this, together. You just have to trust me." Maya told him. Mac shook his head and Maya smiled warmly at him. "I believe you can do this, Max. I promise, I will take care of you. You're not going to suffer for what your uncle does."

"But what if-" Maya shook her head and cut him off.

"I always keep my promises." She stated. Before he could say anything else, there was a knock on the door. Maya and Max broke apart and David entered the room. He smiled as he saw the two of them.

"Josie, could I see you in my office please?" He asked her. Maya nodded she gave Max another look before following David out of her room and into his office. Once the door was closed, he turned towards her.

"I know this is short notice. But tomorrow I have some big time meetings with some clients. They are going to pay me out of loyalty. Finally, the charity event wasn't a success, but that's not going to stop us. We're leaving New York tomorrow." He told her before going over behind his desk.

"W-we're leaving tomorrow?" She asked him. David nodded.

"I'm going to talk to Max a little later on. I have a team coming to move all the important things out of this house. I'm getting my money together and we're going to set it lose together. Then, New York will finally get what's coming to them."

The dark tone and look was back on his face and in his voice. Maya widened her eyes a little, she noticed him take his hand and push back on the drawer at his desk. They needed to get into it.

"I thought we could go by your mothers tomorrow and pack her stuff. She can come with us. I wouldn't want her to still be here when everything happens, knowing just how much she means to you." He told her. Maya snapped her eyes up to meet his. Think fast Maya, think fast.

"That's sweet, but she's on vacation. She went to go visit some family. She's not supposed to be back in New York for a while." Maya told him. David seemed to take this excuse.

"Oh good. Well then after everything gets situated we'll make contact with her. We'll move her to California with us." He told her.

"What is it exactly that you're planning?" Maya asked him. David just simply smiled at her.

"All in due time. I'm sure tomorrow you'll appreciate all the hard work." He told her. Maya just stared at him. He came around from his desk to stand in front of her.

"I'm sorry about earlier. I should have never grabbed you like that. I know you've had a hard  past. I didn't mean to bring back old memories. But you should know, I could never hurt you like that Josie. You're the only person in the world that has the power to break my heart." Maya smiled at him.

"I shouldn't have-" he shook his head and cut her off.

"You don't have to apologize. You have every right to do what you did. I shouldn't have grabbed you like that." He told her. "Now. You get some rest. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow. I wouldn't want to be the reason you were so exhausted." He told her. Maya smiled and nodded at him.

"I'll see you tomorrow then." She told him. He nodded at her before she turned around and walked out the door.

Oh yes, they had a big day ahead of them indeed.
