There is an awkward moment of silence.
"Say something you idiot," my brother says.
What do I say?
"Tell her you know that she's ignoring you."
"I know you're ignoring me Teagan," I blurt out.
She doesn't say anything. Great now she thinks I'm a stalker.
"Shut up. Just speak your heart."
Uhm
"You know it's hard for me too right," I tell her.
"Y-you look a lot like him," She whispers.
What do I say? Of course, I look like him.
"Tell her you need her back."
But I'm fine
"You promised!"
I soft sigh
"I need you back in my life T. You are the only string that's attached to him. I can't lose you too," I tell her honestly.
She doesn't say anything. I awkwardly start playing with my fingers.
"Tell her you avoided her too!"
I didn't
"Oh like you ever tried to talk to her."
I did!
"On text."
Fine
"I've been avoiding you too. I'm not gonna lie. Maybe not as much as you did but I did walk away every time I saw you around the neighbourhood because I didn't know what to say-"
"Or where to start," she cuts in.
"But Zayden said we grow from grief. So I want to try I make things at least half normal how they used to be. We all need you Teagan," I tell her.
Happy?
"Yes!"
"Okay," she finally says making me smile.
"But I need time."
"Sure."
I lay on the bed beside Hope. Teagan lies beside her.
"I miss him too you know," I tell her. "Terribly."
"Let's talk about something else please," she says.
I frown.
"Ask her if she's been swimming lately?"
