After dropping off the book by Teagan's door, I drive to Bea's neighbourhood. I stop by the house I dropped her at and walk up to the door. An old lady opens the door and asks, "How can I help you?"

   "Is Bea there?" I ask.

"I live alone love. I don't know any Bea."

"Oh uhm, she's my friend. I dropped her off here once," I tell her.

"Oh, maybe she lives in this neighbourhood. How does she look?"

"She has brown hair, green eyes, freckles on her cheeks, she's short and has a little sister about a year and a half."

"Like her." I turn around and find Bea walking on the adjacent side with Mira which surprises me. What the-

   "Thanks."

I start walking towards them when Mira sees me. "Hayden! What a pleasant surprise," she exclaims and pulls me into a hug. I briefly hug her and pull away. I stare at Bea and she looks down. "What happened? Did you leave something at home?" She asks.

I glare at Bea. Ava shows her hand and I take her from Bea.

"Oh I see Avery likes you," Mira comments.

I want to confront t Bea but instead I say, "Yeah I think I left my purse over."

"Oh okay. I'm going home now. Do you mind giving us a ride?" She asks.

I nod and lead them to my car. Bea doesn't dare to meet my eyes as we drive. I continue looking at her through the mirror as Mira asks me if I ate and stuff. I stop the car and Avery starts crying.

"Bea take your daughter and put her to bed before she cries and makes poor Hayden deaf," Mira says.

Daughter? What the fuck? I see Bea cringe at Mira's words. She nods and walks ahead of us. She opens the door and wanders off.

"Sorry about that. That's my niece , Avery's mum. We just took her to the doctor, poor soul was sick," Mira tells me.

"It's okay. How is she now?"

"Good. Good. You look around for your purse, I'll get you some juice. "

I nod and wait for her to leave. I walk into the room Bea went into and I leave her purse on the table. She looks at me but doesn't say anything. "You left this at home," I say and leave the room without giving her a chance to reply.

I pull out my purse and show Mira when she comes out, "I found it. Sorry I have to leave, my mum just texted. Thank you."

"Oh can't you stay and drink this?"

"I'm sorry," I say not wanting to stand there another minute in that house.

My blood boils every minute I think about her lying to me. I leave the house and get into my car. I drive home in silence. When I get home I find my father at home which is unusual. He says he's taking us to dinner and we leave as soon I get there. I sigh leaving back my frustration and prepare myself to have some quality time with my family cause it's been ages since we did this.

I walk into my house and look around for Bea but I see her no where.

"Mum where is Bea?" I ask..

"She's called in sick today too."

I frown. She didn't show up yesterday. I went to Mira's house and didn't find her there too. Good, at least I don't have to see her. I'm so angry right now I don't even want to look at her. I can't believe she lied to me and over that she doesn't try to call me or text me to apologize. I huffed and sit down at the table to eat.

My head pounds as I drive back home from Mira's. I saw her there but only for a split second. She came to take Avery to the doctor. Ugh can't believe she lied about the child's name too!! I wanna yell and scream but I can't. "You need distraction" My brother says. I take my phone and click on Teagan's name. What if she doesn't pick up? "Just try," he replies. I haven't seen her in two days and she's been ignoring me ever since we went to that park on Sunday. I dial her number and put it to my hears.

   "Hello," I hear her voice.

"Hey! Wanna go for her swim?"

   "This late in the evening?"

   "Yeah."

   "Okay."

   "See ya!"

I knock on her door and she opens it. I gasp upon seeing her. Her blonde hair is now ice blonde similar to mine. She looks kinda miserable too. Her eyes have patches under neat them and her skin is pale.

   "Are you okay?" I ask.

"Let's go," she says ignoring my question.

She locks the door and gets into my car.

"Where is your aux cable?" She asks.

   "Check in there."

She connects her phone to the car and a song starts playing.

"Don't stay away for too long. Don’t go to bed, I'll make a cup of coffee for your head I'll get you going out again."

I listen to it in silence and half way through the song it hits me.

   "This song ?"

   "Yup." She simply says.

Every word reminds me of my brother and Teagan. I place my hand over hers and squeeze it. She smiles as she hums the tune.

We undress and get into the water. Cold water engulfs our body and she wraps her arms around her body as she shivers. I chuckle and go close to her. I wrap my arms around her and start tickling her under the water. She chuckles as she struggles from my grip. I suddenly stop when our eyes lock. I inhale the familiar smell from her. The moon light shines on her face making her look beautiful.

"Being with you makes me feel his presence, " she whispers.

"You make me feel like he never left," I reply.

“Kiss her,” Zayden says or maybe that on my intrusive thoughts. I don't know why but I end up doing it. I blame Zayden but I know I'm responsible too . She kisses me too but only for a second and she pulls away. She doesn't seem shocked or horrified. She just seems confused.

   "That felt so-"

"Wrong," I complete. ”I'm sorry.” Cause you love, Bea.

She nods. "I couldn't find him on your lips or on Fiona's."

   "Fiona's?"

"Yeah I kissed her hoping to find him."

"Maybe that's because you aren't happy. Maybe because kissing me or her is not what you or I want. When I'm with you I'm happy and I feel him. When I'm kissing Bea I'm happy and I still feel him."

   She hums.

   "I'm sorry I kissed you," I repeat.

"Its okay. I did too. I-I'm just lost without him you know?"

"Maybe it's because you keep wandering. You keep trying to find him when he is in here" I touch her chest. "Maybe if you settle down and be happy you will find him."

She hums. "Sorry I ignored you again. I'm just trying to figure things out."

   "Its fine."

"Okay so what happened? You seemed off when you called."

I tell her about everything that happened since Monday.

"I don't know why but maybe she's scared you know. Did you try asking Mira about the dad?"

   "No."

"I'm sure she has a good explanation. She's very young that could be a reason why she lied I'm guess. To what you've told me this girl is good at pushing people away Mmm probably something hurt her. You should call her--"

   "But-"

"You love her right? She's the one that's been scared. She likes you Hayden. Just call her."

She's right. I do love her. Kissing Teagan proved it that I liked Bea more.

   "Call her now?"

   "But it's late."

"Enough of waiting. Just do it."

I get out of the water, dry off and try calling her. She doesn't pick up. It goes to voice mail.

"Tell her to meet you somewhere or else you'll come to her house to talk to her," Teagan says as she wears her clothes.

"I need answers Bea. I think I deserve it. Meet me at Northeast Park in-" I look at my watch. 8:10. "At 8:45. If you aren’t there, I'm coming to your house to talk." I hit send button.

I drop off Teagan at Peter's cemetery upon her insisting that she'll take a cab from there and I drive to the park. I walk inside to find Bea on the swing. I go sit beside her but she doesn’t acknowledge my presence.
