Noah drove his family to the location sent by the court. The only person missing in the car was Katherine. Hope was sitting on Bea's lap as she held onto her Dora soft toy. “Dada how long?” she asked unable to bear the distance. The little one was too excited to see her friend she missed so much. Her father stopped the car and looked back at her. “We are here bud.”

Holding her dad's hand she walked into the building. Hayden and Bea trailing behind. A tall man with broad shoulders greeted them and shook hands. “Hello, I’m Jonah Hill. I will be your evaluator.” he then gestured them to a room. “Let us go and see the baby first. Then we shall talk.” They nodded and walked in. Gary the cop was inside the room along with a lady cop they didn’t recognize. In the room, there was a big window glass that made it easy to see what was happening in the next room. There was another door beside the window.

“Who is the parent or guardian of the child?” Jonah asked. Bea raised her hand and introduced herself along with the people she came with. Jonah nodded and asked only Bea and Hayden to follow him. He opened the other door and lead them in. Once they stepped into the other room, Jonah closed the door. He went over to the window to observe them. Noah took a step forward but the cops stopped him telling him to stay where he was. Noah could still see what was happening. Only the view below their waist was covered by a wall.

The first thing Hayden and Bea noticed was that the window was a one-way mirror. All they saw was themselves in the window. They looked around wondering what was happening. Right then a door in front of them opened and a lady carrying Avery walked in along with a male cop. Bea burst into tears upon seeing her child. She stepped forward ready to carry her child but the male cop gestured for her to stay. The lady placed Avery on the floor. From outside Noah couldn’t see the two people standing across the room. He frowned seeing Bea cry.

Avery whined the minute she was let down but then she noticed the two familiar faces in the room. She eagerly started crawling towards them. Bea fell to her knees waiting for her child to come to her. Little by little her little hands moved but then suddenly she stopped. She pushed herself up and stood up. Bea gasped and tugged Hayden's pants pointing at her child. “She is walking! My Bea is walking, Hay!“ she sobbed. It was Avery's first step. Then her second and third. She ran fast and fell into her mother’s arms. Hayden’s eyes watered and he watched it all with a big smile. He got on his knees and squeezed Bea's shoulders.

Bea hugged her child dearly and cried, “My baby. My beautiful baby when did you start walking.” She pulled away and kissed Avery all over her face. Then her hands and legs. Avery giggled finding the whole thing amusing. Hayden placed his hand on Avery's head and rubbed it. She looked at him and giggled. The little child opened her arms and Hayden carried her. He gently caressed her cheeks. “Look at you all grown and walking,” he whispered and the child chuckled. Hayden kissed her head. “I missed you. I really did.” Avery reached out her hand and placed it on his cheek. That’s when he realized he was crying too. He quickly wiped his tears.

Noah could hear everything that was happening but it frustrated him that he could see nothing. He tried standing on his tiptoes but it was no use. “Dada, what is happening?” Hope asked who was now sitting on his hip. “I have no clue baby." He took a small sneaky step hoping no one would see. At that very moment, his son stood up holding Avery. Bea stood up too. “Dada! Dada! Is that Avs!?” Hope jumped in excitement. “Dada I wanna see Avs! Dada please.” She reached her hand forward hoping her father would let her go. Jonah heard her and turned to look at them. Noah looked at him and Jonah nodded. He gestured at Gary who opened the door for them. Noah thanked them all and walked in to join his son and the family he made for himself.

When the door opened, Bea's face fell thinking time was up. She shielded her child and stepped back as she looked at the door. Noah and Hope walked in. Upon seeing them Bea relaxed. “She is walking now,” Bea said smiling. Noah's face lit up. “That’s wonderful.” Noah placed Hope on her feet and she started to run to Bea. Bea knelt holding Avery in her arms. “Avs! Avs!” the child looked at the other and started clapping her hands. She wiggled and opened her tiny hands. Bea held the baby out as Hope and the child hugged each other.

Hope handed her doll to Avery. “I brought this for chu. Keep it. I know chu love Dora” Avery clung to the doll and bit its ears. “Where have you been Avs? I missed chu badly. It was very bowing,” Hope told her friend and pouted. Avery giggled and continued nibbling on the doll. “When will chu come home?” Hope asked.

Hayden carried his sister and kissed her cheeks. “Hopefully soon baby,” he told her. Bea then stood up and looked at Noah. She said nothing but yet Noah understood perfectly what she was asking. Do you want to carry my child? This was a sign of acceptance. Although Noah has been very supportive of their relationship, this was still a big step. Noah nodded and walked up to her. She held out the baby and he carried her. Compared to his son, Noah has only been around the child a few times. But yet when he held her, he couldn’t help but feel attracted to her. He kissed her cheeks and held his finger out. Avery wrapped her small fingers around his. “Hello Avery, how are you?” Avery mumbled something making me laugh. He swayed from side to side as he kept admiring her.

Bea wanted to run away when she saw the cops approaching her. She didn’t want to give away her child but she had no choice. Hayden wrapped her arms around her waist and whispered, “We’ll get her back.” With a heavy heart, she let them take her. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she watched them walk away. Avery looked at her mother and burst into tears. Het little hands reaching towards the brunette. Bea stepped forward ready to console her child but Hayden grabbed her hand. Bea looked at him and he shook his head. “Please,” he begged.

Jonah watched their every move and took notes vigorously. When the family came out, he inquired about the missing member. “Where is Mrs Fenwick?” Hayden looked at his dad and Noah replied, “She is sick. I’m so sorry. Is it necessary for her to come?” Jonah shook his head, “Just want to see how all the family members treat the child is all. You may go now. You’ll get a notice for when you need to appear for counselling. Hopefully, Mrs Fenwick will be able to join you then.” Noah nodded.

“Will we lose because of her?” Hayden asked his dad as they walked out. “Why can’t she understand Dad?” Noah patted his son's shoulder. The truth was Katherine wasn’t sick. Hayden knew she was only pretending. She simply refused to come because she doesn’t want to be a part of this. She made that very clear when he asked her to come for the first Hearing. Hayden couldn’t comprehend why his mom who has always supported him, suddenly became his enemy.

Katherine drove down Rushland Avenue. She stopped her car. Right then her phone rang and she took it from her bag. It was her husband, probably calling her to come for the evaluation. She silenced her phone and dropped it back in her bag. She looked out and saw a cop standing outside the house. She got down and walked up to him. “Sandra Miller’s apprentice,” she said and he nodded. Katherine rang the doorbell and waited. Mira opened the door and smiled upon seeing her. “Oh, you are right on time. Come in Kat, Come in,” she said welcoming the ginger head inside.
