"Teagan let's go in." I finally recognize the female holding me. Fiona helps me stand up and I look at Hayden. He looks scared and I see tears in his eyes too. He thinks it's his fault. I hurt him too. I fall into his arms and he hugs me. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

"it's not your fault," I whisper.

"I'll talk to him."

"He deserves better Hayden. It is okay," I say with a pang in my heart.

"That's-" his phone rings cutting him off. I pull away allowing him to take the call.

"Hello?" he frowns. "Bea? Bea?... Can you hear me?... Hello! Bea?...Shit."

"What happened Hayden?" Fiona asks.

"I don't know." He taps on the screen and puts the phone to his ears. "Ugh. Pick up." Then he shoves it in his pocket. "Bea. She wasn't answering. I just heard wheezing. Footsteps and then silence. I'm going to go check. Fiona, can you take care of Teagan."

"I'm coming with you," I say putting my hand on his shoulder.

"No Teagan go inside."

"I'll come too," Fiona volunteers. I shake my head and hand her my car keys. "You take my car and go home. I'll pick it up tomorrow."

"No. Both of you stay here," Hayden repeats and walks away to his car.

I wipe my tears. "You go," I tell Fiona.

"You sure you want to do this? We can go in and do something to get your mind off things."

I shake my head. "I had this gut feeling and still do. Something is wrong. Hayden needs me. I'll go with him. Can you just lock my house and give the key to Aunty Lara before you leave?"

Fiona nods and hugs me. "I'll visit you tomorrow. Don't worry things will be okay tomorrow."

I hold my hand out just as Hayden is about to take off. He stops. I open the door and get in.

"Teagan go home!"

"No. I know something is wrong and I'm coming with you."

He sighs and gets inside. I text my parents: I'm going out with Hayden. I am fine. Please don't spam my phone. I will come home and explain I promise. I will be back soon. I silence my phone because I know I can't trust my parents and look at Hayden.

"I couldn't hear anything first then I heard her stepmother saying hold the child, a door close and then silence."

"What are you thinking?" I ask.

"I don't know what to make of it. I don't trust that woman. She disgusts me. She is very mean and verbally abusive towards Bea. Her stepmother is Mira aka the famous artist aka my art teacher. That lady, I hate her."

Hayden starts moving like a madman once we reach Bea's house. He jumps out of the car not bothering to turn the engine off. I do it and close the car door before following him into the yard. He knocks on the front door and rings the doorbell but no one opens it. I walk up to the window and try looking inside but all I see is darkness. I take my phone and try calling Bea. We hear her phone ring inside. Hayden starts bashing himself on the door. I look around for an alternate way to get inside. "Ugh f*** open!" he barks as he keeps slamming the door.

I go around the house and find a back door. I try opening it but it's locked. The door has a glass window. I can break it. I look around trying to find something solid. I almost trip on something as I move. I use my phone's torchlight and see a rock. I carry it and swing it at the glass on the door. The glass shatters echoing through the silent night. I hiss in disapproval and look around. If anyone sees me, they will think I'm a bandit. I sigh and start removing my blouse. I wrap it around my right hand for protection before I put my hand through the broken hole. Moving my hand around carefully, I try locating the latch. Without pressing against the sharp edges of the glass, I manage to unlock the door.

"What are you do-" I open the door. "Oh my T you are a genius!" Hayden exclaims and rushes into the house. I pull my blouse over my head and follow behind. A strong gas smell fills my nostrils as I enter the kitchen. I shine my phone light around and locate the stove. All the knobs are turned on. I frown. I turn them all backdown and open the kitchen window.

I hear a voice in the distance and then Hayden's voice gets clear, "Bea! Oh God! Bea wake up!" I follow the voice trying to find him. "Teagan come here!" I end up tripping and falling on my knees. A sharp pain shoots through my knees and I fall on my side. I shine the light around and see a broom on the floor. Then I look at my knees. My left knee has a purple spot with some blood on it. I frown. When did I hurt myself? I don't see anything sharp on the floor. Then slowly I start to recall the memories. I knelt on the road. I try remembering hard and suddenly I feel pain. I must have hurt myself then.

"Bea get up! Reagan where are you!?" I hear Hayden scream.

I slowly manage to push myself up. All my brain can focus on now is the pain in my left knee. It's weird how I never felt pain when I fell then. Maybe because my heart was hurting more... Now it's just numb... I drag myself to the living room and find Bea lying in Hayden's arms. Bea is gasping for air. Hayden sees me and points into the darkness, "Find her inhaler. Now! Soon!" I shine the light around trying to locate her bag. My knee stings as I move. I notice it on the couch and rush to it. Not being able to stand, I collapse on the couch. I rummage through her bag and find the white object.

"Here." I toss it to Hayden. He puts it in her mouth. She takes a few puffs. Hayden then puts it away and makes Bea sit. She looks around trying to catch her breath.

"Where is Avery?" he asks after she calms down. Bea looks around searching for the child. Then she gasps. Her eyes widen as she lets out a screech, "She's gone! She took my baby away!"
