Jean and Brock, as well as a lot of factory workers, managed to pull all of the originals into seperate small rooms. There was four, hard as rock beds with one blanket and no pillow, peeling paint on the walls, and boards on the floor coming up. So high class. The clones had gone back to the factory, probably to be operated on.
"I'm hungry," I whined. "Do we not get food?"
"I neeeed a shower," Kayla said. "And a warm bed."
"This is all we're gonna get," Harry sighed. "Just try to make the best of it."
"How is that possible?" Kayla asked. "This is crap."
Harry shrugged, looking away.
"Here's food, now shut up!" A voice yelled, and I turned to see the door open a crack and a hand throw a bag of Lay's chips land on the ground.
We dove at them like lions.
We were all sprawled out around the room, and I was trying to figure out how to make a comfortable seat, but it wasn't really working. We were half eating the chips, half using them for a game of Blackjack. It was kind of hard, but we made do.
"Okay, the banker can't eat the chips, Marisa. We kind of need them," Liam sighed, but he smiled at me.
"I'm sorrryyy they are tempting," I said.
Through a small window, I could see the forest, which was pitch black. I could even here some of the night animals, like crickets and owls. I really hoped no bears came through the wall and mauled me in my sleep.
Suddenly, Jean opened the door and stepped in, sitting next to Kayla.
"What do youuu want?" She groaned.
"I'm bored, okay? There's nothing to do in this factory but watch clones be freaks. Besides, originals are better."
"Wow, a compliment, I'm so touched," Liam scoffed.
Jean shrugged, grabbing a bunch of chips from the decreasing pile and eating them like we were BFF's.
"What game we playin?" He asked, scratching his ginger hair.
"Blackjack, but I wouldn't bother, I'm creaming everyone," Harry said, smiling.
"Hey, I'm pretty close," Kayla said, smiling. But instead of the usually cheeky grin back, Harry just showed no emotion.
"Oh yea? I bet I could beat all of you," Jean said, sounding cocky.
"Okay, if you loose we get real pillows and more food," Kayla said.
"And if I win, which I will, I get.... to go on a date with you, Kayla. A REAL date."
Kayla spit up the few chips in her mouth. "That's not fair for Kayla."
"It's all I'm offerin," Jean said, crossing his hands.
"Don't worry, I'll beat this jerk," Harry said, dealing out some of the cards.
The game dragged on for practically the whole night. Harry gained a huge lead, but Jean dived right in and stole almost all of Liam and my chips. I had a few good cards, though, and started doing really good! Harry and Jean were in competivie mode, just watching each other. It kept going on and onnnn, and I got really bored, so I started eating some more of my chips... then I ran out.
"Okay, I loose," I said. I hoped on the rocky bed. "Wake me up when you get pillows, Harry."
I didn't really fall asleep, just watched. Liam lost almost all of his chips, then joined me on the bed, sitting next to me.
Jean had a really good poker face, I had to admit. I could never tell what cards he had.
Harry smiled, and I could tell he was really happy with his deck. He layed down the cards, then Jean did.
"Dangggiiiiiittttttttttt," Kayla groaned.
"I'll pick you up at seven, babe," Jean said, standing up, wiping his hands on his jeans (no pun intended) and sauntered out of the room.
"Why life why."
