We decided to spend the day exploring Argentina.
Clay drove us into the city and dropped us off. "I'll be back to pick you guys up at 4:30. Please, please don't get yourself killed."
We shrugged. No promises.
The city really was pretty. The shops were small and quaint, and there were tons of people walking around or traveling on bikes and scooters. We wandered around for a while, then found a small store that we ventured into.
There were cute clothes hung every which way, and a small woman behind the counter. There were only three other people shopping. Kayla and I ran to the clothes, while the guys hung back and looked at shoes and beach clothes.
"What do you think about this top?" Kayla said, pulling out a short, light brown, shirt with lace in the back.
"Really cute," I said. "But we don't exactly have money."
"Oh. Yeah. Welllll..."
"We are NOT stealing clothes."
"You don't own me."
"Well I'm just trying to keep my friend out of jail."
"Hmf," She sighed.
"Here, I got some cash, I can get it for you," Harry said, taking the top from Kayla.
"Where did you get money?" Liam asked. He was looking at some jeans.
"I took some from The Rays. I doubt they'll notice," Harry said cooly.
None of us objected.
We walked out of the store- me with a light blue shirt and a pair of jean shorts and Kayla with the brown top and some flip flops. The guys had also gotten some pants and shirts. We headed deeper into the city, stopping in front of a large building that looked like it was for law or something, sitting down on a fountain and eating churros we had gotten from a vender on the street.
Harry still looked distracted about the whole a chip in his brain thing.
"You still worried about the chip?" I asked, taking a bite out of the cinnamon stick.
"Yeah, just a little bit," He sighed. "I mean, it's creepy and disturbing."
"That's Jean for ya," Kayla said.
"Maybe we could take you to a doctor and they could like... remove it," Liam suggusted.
"I said I stole a little money from the Rays, not enough for brain surgury," Harry said gloomily.
"Well we could at least get an x-ray and see if something is actually there," I said. "I mean, we still don't know for sure."
"Well we don't really have any other clues on how Jean keeps finding us, unless he's like God and can see everything," Kayla said.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to go to the doctor," Harry said.
Turns out you can't really just walk into a doctor's office and ask for an brain examination. It probably took us at least half an hour to make up some excuse on how we were allowed to go to the doctor's without parent permission and then another twenty minutes to actually fill out all of these sheets and health thingys.
"Ugh, my hand cramps," Harry said.
We sat in the waiting room for a while until a nurse called Harry back. She said we couldn't go with him and had to stay in the waiting room. For some reason, we were all really nervous, like Harry was about to find out he had some deathly disease or something.
