I'm sitting at the kitchen island.
Jay comes in, she looks like she's in a hurry. Her beautiful dress is flowing past her thighs.
"Hey have you seen Wanda?!" we meet eyes, there is a slight sense of fear in them but I don't question it.
"No I haven't sorry? Do you need her?" I question, I'm thinking of reading her mind, seeing what the truth is and if she will lie to me.
"No it's ok. Pietro's looking for her, I'll go check the training rooms" and before I can think, she's on her heel and already down the hallway.
Training rooms? Why would she be in the training rooms? And why 30 minutes before the party?
Who knows. I mean, I'm an avenger, something is always up.
I get up and push the stool underneath the island bench and head down the hallway. I turn left, Jay turned right.
It's quite obvious where Jay goes. I don't even need to raise my senses of sight or hearing to know she's chasing Pietro's footsteps. She adores him, he adores her. How do I know that?
Because I was in love with Pietro.
That was three years ago. I've moved on and I adore Pietro and Jay. They really make each other happy.
I didn't mean to find out.
It was a cold morning. Rain was dripping down my window. I was sitting on the floor looking out and watching the trees sway side to side.
Everyone's thoughts were running around my head. My own powers were betraying me.
I tried meditation, just like Wanda and instructed me to do. She's the only one who knows about how I get everyone's thoughts bouncing around my head, burning my brain and skull, besides Thor and Loki.
She gets it too. She tells me when it happens.
We like to think it's normally, but it doesn't take an idiot to realise we are lying.
We call them 'mind reading explosions'.
I can often tell when she gets them too because I get them at the same time. It's caused by all the electricity in the air and the brain waves.
Although this time she didn't have it. She wasn't there to support me either, her and Vision were out for the day.
I didn't want to tell her anyways, I knew how much days with Vision meant to her, so I cuddled up on the floor by myself and set myself on fire to keep warmth.
I heard a knock at the door. I locked my door for a reason.
"I'm busy sorry" I shout out.
Jay enters.
"Your not busy" she says and comes and sits next to me on the floor. I heat the air around her to warm her up since my heater wasn't on.
Sometimes I forget she can manipulate all types of metals. She must of done it with my lock.
I breath in and out slowly, trying not to loose control and read her mind.
But I can't control it. I can't control my own powers.
I thought I was a goddess. You don't see Thor zapping people accidentally, that's because when his powers are out of control he stays in his room all day.
All of Jays thoughts rush into my head. I can't control it. I want to scream, but Jay doesn't know about my mind reading explosions.
Most thoughts flick past quickly, except for one.
It was Jay and Pietro's angry love confession in the rain from the night before.

I've read a few fanfics of the avengers, all of them were cringy and weird. Nothing like the relationships all the avengers actually have.
I stand up and excuse myself before I leave the room.
*end of memory*
I walk up to Loki's bedroom door and knock.
He opens the door. His wearing a black suits with matching black shoes.
He looks great, nothing like anything he would wear on Asgard.
Suits aren't really a thing on Asgard.
"Hey" I say as I come in.
I sit on the end of his bed. He questions me about how he should do his hair. I tell him about Wanda's missing appearance.
He doesn't seem to worry much.
I check the time, 5 minutes until the party.
"Let's make our way over" I say.
When we arrive, food is scattered all across tables.
People are dressed fancy. My black dress is just sitting above my knees.
I see Maddie walk in. She looks stunning.
"Hey, Maddie!" I wave her over. She looks at me like she's seen a ghost, as if the whole building was going to explode.
Her glance only lasts a quick second before she turns away and keeps walking.
I turn to Loki, he saw the whole thing. We exchange a funny look.
Then it hits me. The building was going to explode.
My hearing sense automatically becomes more aware of the sounds around me.
I hear wine go down Loki's throat.
I close my eyes. I see the bomb.
My eyes flash open. Ariba is a few metres away from it.
I run infront of Ariba. A bright flash.
My ears have a deafening ring.
I absorb all the heat from the explosion and fall to the ground.
I stay conscious for around what seems like 30 seconds. My eyes are glued shut but I can tell blood is pouring out of my ear closest to the bomb explosion.
My left arm has cuts all over it.
I hear someone scream next to me. I hear Loki's voice muffling near me, crawling towards me.
Then everything goes black and I'm gone.
Unconscious.
