I lay on my bed watching TikToks. There's still like an hour before we have to leave, and I don't feel like getting up and socializing. After Tony got home from the hospital, he's been super pissy. He's constantly lecturing Kandyce about reading Bruce's mind because "he could've died" even though if he had JUST LISTENED TO US HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE. I get up and throw an extra outfit into a backpack. I have a funny feeling I'll need it. I also pack my knives, which I can't take in, but I grab them just in case. I grab my suit, which is a little blue diamond until it's expanded. It works using magnets in a special tank top I wear and I stick it on. Tap to put it on, Double tap no mask, tap off.
After his party, I begged Mr Stark to put roller skates in my suit but apparently I "don't know how to skate" and "could get seriously hurt".
I finish packing my backpack and throw in some money. I toss it on the floor and flop onto my bed to go back on my phone. My Tiktok messages are constantly filled with edits of me and my friends, and it's honestly kinda awkward. I check the time, and we suddenly have to leave in 15 minutes. I get into the elevator to head up to the bus, but something feels off. I press the door open button and run to Tony's lab to find the bug detector. It's a little device, it looks like a TV remote, and it can find most spy equipment. I get back into the elevator and it starts going off like crazy. I turn on my phone and record with one hand and operate the detector with the other, so I can show it to Tony.
Bruce probably bugged it, but wherever he is, he probably can't access the footage. I get to the buses, and Steve lectures me for being late. I roll my eyes and hop on the bus. I sit in the back, in a clump with Jay, Mara, Kandyce, Pietro, Ariba, Dee, and Erika. I sit with Kandyce behind Jay and Pietro. Mara and Ariba are sitting in front of Dee and Erika, and everyone is twisted around in their seats to talk to everyone else. The bus starts moving, and we all jolt back.
"Ugh, I fucking hate buses," Kandyce sighs.
"Me too," I chuckle.
There's a silence.
"I have something to show you," I tell her, unlocking my phone. I pull up the video, and turn the sound up just enough to be heard. She stares at it intently.
"Do you think it was Bruce?"
"Honestly, maybe. I don't know anyone else who has access to the compound elevators." She shrugs. "But he probably can't access it."
