I stare at Tony's body, and Adria uses her powers to stop the ceiling fan. What was the point of that? I grab him, putting my arms under his, while she grabs his legs. He's heavy. We lug him to the hallway near the elevator when the alarm starts going off again. Shit. We start to run, still dragging Tony. The hallway is flashing red and it's LOUD.
I use my powers to turn the alarms down. We shove Tony into the elevator and go to the first floor. We're going to put him into the apocalypse and frame it as a suicide or murder by the few people left alive. We leave the elevator, and are immediately shot at by a bunch of guards. Perfect.
"Oh my God!" I shout, "You just SHOT Tony!" Adria glances at me, but goes along with it.
"You're done for when people hear about this!"
The guard panics.
"Shit! I shot the boss."
"No you didn't," one replies. "These dumbasses suck at lying."
"You did!" I shout. "You totally just shot him!"
"No he didn't," the guard scowls, "You did."
"Run," I whisper to Adria.
We leave Tony there and BOLT. We run as fast as possible, and Adria uses her powers to speed us up. We run for what feels like hours, but was probably just minutes. We hide inside a hollowed out warehouse, panting.
"Did they follow us?" she asks, sitting down. I look over the barrier.
"I don't think so," I say, turning around again. I sigh.
"Thank God," she responds.
We sit until dark until we decide to go back to the compound. We'll figure out a way to explain.
We make it back and go to my room, locking the door.
"Okay." I say, "We need to call Kandyce and we need to call Flynn to let him know you're okay." She nods.
I go to the main portion of my bedroom and sit on my bed to call Kandyce.
