I finish texting Kandyce and Jay and get ready to put on my dress and makeup. I need to get ready for prom so we can plan. I'm going with Erika, and I'm super excited since we all voted for Mr Stark to rent an empty strip club for the night, and a few of us learned to poke dance for fun (Steve wasn't a fan of that).
Unfortunately, some of us younger Avengers had to go on a mission and missed prom, so the Avengers are throwing a private prom to make it up to us.
I'm worried, though; Bruce is evil, and we still cause Armageddon, we never figured out how to stop it. That's why I texted Kandyce and Jay.
A few minutes later, I hear a knock at my door. Kandyce, Jay, Flynn, Mara, Ariba, Emma, Pietro, Erika, and a few others are standing there. I'm not ready yet, but neither are they. They went to get food before this, so they're all together.
We all sit down, some on the couch, some on the floor, and some on my bed. "Okay," I say, "I have these schedules. We need to keep an eye on Bruce and make sure he doesn't pull anything. Jay, have you talked to Mr Stark yet?" "I did, but he didn't believe me," she shrugged, "He said there's no way Bruce of all people is evil. He doesn't even believe me about fighting ourselves." "Shit." I bite my lip, then turn to Erika, "Since we all have dates, we should take turns with our dates and watching Bruce." "I don't see why we need to," Ariba says, scooting the schedule back to me, "Let's just enjoy prom and deal with him if he... you know... pulls something?" "Fine, but let's at least wear our comms," I say. I hear a few people groan. "I'm not even going, so I don't know why I'm here," Emma chimes. "What?! Why?" I ask. Emma's really fun at events like this. "Because it's prom. And I'm 30." "Fine. Wear your comms and stay close, ok" "Sure"
Jay and Ariba stayed to get ready with me. I wore a long green dress with a leg slit, Ariba wore a floor-length gold gown, also with a leg slit, and Jay wore a long dress with no back and a deep v-neck with a belly hole. "We look hot," Ariba says.
We go down to get into the limo to go to the prom venue, and I do a comms check. All the adults are in a separate car, and all the teens are in the limo together so I can do a comms check without Bruce catching on. We agree to connect on Channel 4, as opposed to our usual Channel 3, so no one on the team intercepts it.
