Steve tries to get to Erika, but he's held back and ushered out by security. I turn my head to look at Sam, who's scanning the list. He turns to me, not saying anything. The other adults are shooed out. I look around at the people standing around me. We're all pretty much kids. She's up to something. This is ridiculous.
We need to have a team meeting. No Miss Augustus. No lies. No bullshit.
A security guard grabs my upper arm. I try to twist out of his grip, but he's holding on. He escorts me downstairs to my room, and everyone else was escorted too. I guess their squashing the revolution before it starts.
I hear the door click behind me and I try the handle. Ive been locked in.
I call Ariba, but my phone's not working. Shit.
It's just a wooden door, so I grab a lamp. Using all of my strength, I slam it against the door, but the lamp shatters. Maybe I didn't think this through. I remove a bar from the shelving in my closet and hit the door handle, hoping to break it off. It doesn't work.
I search my room, and find a screwdriver. I crouch down and unscrew the door handle. I pull the door open and run. I don't know where I'm going, maybe I'll check up on someone. I get in the elevator as quietly as possible. I know it has audio receivers, but no cameras.
There's security swarming outside, and if I try to leave I'll get shot. I call a news station and tell them that there's a rumor that someone killed Tony and we know who. I don't give them names, but within the hour the place is swarming with reporters. Go figure.
As the security deals with them, I use my opportunity and run as fast and as far as I can.
