Pietro and I walk over back to the front of the compound.
Comms isn't working and I can hear a fire alarm going off inside.
I know Kandyce has set it off. It's quite obvious, who else would set that off.
Then the fire alarm stops.
Pietro and I are stranded out the front of the compound.
People are running around. I see Maddie get in a car and drive away. I don't question it, Tony must of told her to go somewhere.
Where has Tony gone? No avengers are near.
Only civilians were near. Police car sirens were going off.
The worlds spinning. I don't know what to do.
Where is Nat? What happened to her?
"I think Kandyce needs us" I manage to spit out.
All the sirens are causing my head to spin.
"Let's go see" Pietro picks me up and we run inside.
As we run through the compound, I hear screaming.
It's Maddie.
She'll be fine. She always screams to make sure people know where she is, or to see if anyone else is in.
The alarm was coming from Maddie's room, except we heard Maddie near sub-level 8.
I slowly push Maddie's bedroom door open.
I see Kandyce. Lava dripping from her eyes, landing on the floor.
The whole rooms on fire. I turn to see what Kandyce is looking at.
It's a figure with a dark hoodie over there head, a black super suit underneath it.
Lava has been splat on some parts of the figures suit.
The figure burns the hoodie and the remaining bits fall to the ground.
I look at Kandyce, she doesn't seem confused at all.
But I am confused. I am confused, why is there two Kandyce's in Maddie's room.
Kandyce looks at me, still standing beside Maddie's bed. She seems to be protecting someone on it, sheltering a body from the figure who turns out to be Kandyce.
I know she's hallucinating. She suffers from it a lot.
Kandyce holds her arm up, fire and a mix of lava is dripping from her palm and fingers.
She uses her powers to push Pietro and I out of the door way, then slams the door shut, telepathically.
I've fallen on my back but Pietro manages to catch me in mid air. We stand up in the hallway, looking at Maddie's bedroom door.
The air is getting really hot. Then a breeze of hot air comes from underneath Maddie's bedroom door.
I open Maddie's door, to find the figure burnt, dead on the floor.
Kandyce is standing over the figure. She's covered in lava, sweating.
She looks in my direction but I can't tell if she's looking at me because her eyes are pupil less, just full of lava.
"She's done it" Pietro says, his sweating from all the heat in the air.
"She did" I pant while trying to catch my breath.
Kandyce has taken the figures powers, somehow.
