I get a text from Maddie telling me to go up to her room so we have a plan on what to do about Bruce. As I make my way to Maddie's room, I meet Jay and Pietro in the hallway. They both look stunning.
My dark blue dress hits the floor and covers my dark blue heels and legs. I'm struggling to walk in the heels and I have to grab onto the wall a few times to catch myself.
Pietro, Jay and I walk into Maddie's room, everyone's already there. I manage to sit on the floor since all the spots are taken on Maddie's bed and on the couches. I take my heels off since they are hurting my ankles and cross my legs.
I notice all the girls wearing short dresses of some sort and a slit down the leg or something similar. Maddie seems to catch on because she comments on my dress "girl why you looking like your going to a ball with the queen".
"Just wait" I say with a smirk. I cover my knees with my dress and burry my face into my hands. I probably look like a toddler with the way I'm sitting but I'm comfortable so I don't move.
"What are you going to do?" Erika says with a funny look on her face. Erika and I are cousins, we have been best friends for as long as I can remember and if she's in a room then I'm probably in it too.
I stand up and put my heels back on. Everyone's looking at me and that's making me laugh.
"Are you gonna do what you wanted to do?" Jay questions me, looking at me with a confused expression on her face.
"Yes just wait" I say, trying not to laugh. Once I have stopped laughing, I close my eyes and focus. I open my eyes and look at everyone, they seem to be fed up with me. They start to catch on with what I'm doing, my blue dress is now melting onto the floor and crippling up.
All of my dress is now gone and I'm left wearing a dark blue skin tight dress that stops mid way down my thighs. My heels are still the exact same, but they match my dress.
"Your such an attention seeker" Emma slips out. I don't think she means it in a mean way.
"Says you" I say laughing. I can't sit back down otherwise my ass would hang out so I just stand up awkwardly until I see Erika make some room for me and I go and sit next to her.
"Ok anyways back to the point" Maddie says, clearing her throat. "What are we gonna do about Bruce?" she questions everyone.
Everyone puts in some ideas. Jay suggests that we should just ignore him and have fun. Emma says she's not even coming to prom but she will keep her comms on. Dee points out the fact that it is a perfect time for him to set off another bomb.
"Why don't you guys just have fun and I'll keep and eye out. I don't mind keeping an eye out. We have a ball every other week on Asgard so it wouldn't hurt if I miss out on one" I offer and everyone seems to accept after a few arguments.
Jay and Mara still aren't sure about me missing out on prom but I assure them that I'll still have fun and that Bruce might not even attack us.
"One rule" Maddie pulls me aside as everyone leaves to get ready for prom. I nod, signing her to continue speaking. "Don't read his mind. We don't know if his got new powers".
"Yes, ok" I say and I leave the room in a hurry. I try and run in my heels as quickly as I can back to my bedroom. I put on my necklace with a fire charm on it. I can never be sure when I'll need it so I bring it with me basically everywhere.
If I press the fire charm, my suit appears and covers me. It's nanotechnology, Tony has been working on it and I was the first one to test it besides him and Rhodey. It's mainly because my suits a pain in the ass to get on and off, it takes me about 25 minutes to actually suit up and prepare to fight so the charm is a literal life saver.
I put in my comms ear piece just like Maddie told all of us to do so and I switch to radio 4, meaning Bruce can't hear a single thing we say.
I head to the front of the compound on my own and wait for everyone to come down. After standing there for about 2 minutes, I realise that everyone won't be down for a while so I run back up to my room and grab a gun and my belt to hang the gun on.
I wrap the belt around my waist and attach the gun in its slot. I use my powers to make the belt and gun invisible to everyone except for me then I run back down to the front of the compound. The teens have a seperate limo to the adults. When I get down there everyone is already in it and waiting for me.
"Where have you been?" Mara questions me as she scoots over so I can sit next to her. Everyone's looking at me waiting for me to answer.
I look at them all and hesitate. "I was just- getting my um- necklace! I was getting my necklace!" I say as I hold the necklace for everyone to see.
They all nod and continue talking amongst themselves. I see Jay looking at me in the corner of my eye, she must sense the metal from the gun and bullets around my waist. I ignore her and talk to Mara.
"Ok everyone let's do a comms check" Maddie says, getting everyone's attention.
After a few comms checks, we end up at the front of the strip club. We all get out of the limo one by one and enter the strip club. All the adult avengers are already waiting around, they must of set it up. Erika and I take a seat on one of the couches.
"Are you going to Asgard on Thursday?" I ask while admiring the decorations around the place.
"Yeah, Odin wants to see me. I'm guessing you are too?" she asks.
Yeah I am. I don't really feel like going- but I will of course. Frigga is teaching me magic classes so I'll probably just be doing that all weekend" I say as I grab some food from the coffee table in front of us.
"That sounds fun" she says while grabbing some food.
"You should join us, I'm kind of getting sick of her company not gonna lie" I say as I put some food into my mouth.
"Really? I'll talk to my dad about it" she says and we both head up to Maddie and Jay.
"Have you found anything yet?" Maddie asks me.
I found some food" I say as I put a strawberry covered in chocolate in my mouth, "it's delicious" I say while raising my eyebrows.
"No she hasn't found anything yet" Erika says as she walks off to join Seb and Dee.
"Why can't we just do prom and have fun" Jay insists but Maddie ignores her so I just shrug my shoulders at her, she walks away and joins Mara.
Maddie looks past me and I just keep my eyes concentrated on hers, knowing not to turn around or it will make it obvious. I see her using her powers to dial up her hearing so I do the same.
"His not talking about anything important" I say, assuring Maddie that Bruce isn't doing anything at the moment.
"I know" she says turning her attention back to me, "you can never be to sure though". The words roll off her tongue and she walks away where Loki meets her.
You can never be to sure though? What does she mean by that. I'm just overthinking everything. She doesn't mean anything.
I walk back to Jay and Mara. They seem to be taking some shots. I'm not sure if anyone has poisoned them so I use my powers to get a taste without actually drinking it. It hasn't been poisoned so I join them.
I hear Maddie talking to Loki about how the drinks taste spiked so I read Bruce's mind. I quickly pull out my phone and message Maddie, Bruce did spike the drinks.
I'm so lost in Bruce's thoughts that I only actually come back to reality when I hear a loud bang on the floor. I turn around to see Tony poisoned, laying on the floor unconscious.
Everyone runs out of the strip club to suit up. I press my fire charm and I'm already suited up so I run to assist Tony. Paramedics are already around the corner.
"Hey Tony. Can you hear me?" I say as I kneel next to him. Think Kandyce, think. Of course he can't hear you, his unconscious.
I shuffle on my kneels towards him while taking my heels off and letting the nanotechnology reach my feet to cover them. I focus, it's hard to do so since there's yelling and shouting coming from all directions but I end up being able to.
Once I've focused enough, I start heating up the liquid his swallowed so I can get it out of his system. Since I can only control heated things, it's important I heat it up. Once it's hot enough, I take it out of him, it comes out of his nostrils and I throw it up into the air and it dissolves.
Paramedics pull me back, "it's ok I got it out. His fine now" I assure them but they take him to the ambulance and drive him away.
I'm left on my own so I fly up into the air and try and find Bruce but it's no use. I fly back to the compound and fall on the doorstep, I'm exhausted.
