The ceiling hadn't changed.

The room hadn't changed.

Nothing had changed for all this time. It was exactly how it was when I'd left him.

Except we weren't the same. Pan wasn't. I wasn't. Whatever was going on between us wasn't.

The whole situation had changed.

There were so many memories in this room. On this fucking island.

I'd actually had quite a peaceful night. No nightmares.

Of course you didn't have any nightmares dipshit, you were with him.
Yeah I was. But why, why didn't I have nightmares with him? Why did he have that kind of power?

I'd been awake for a little while by now, the minutes just seemed to tick by. I turn my head to my right and saw Pan. He looked so peaceful when he slept. So beautiful, so perfect.

And so fucking stubborn. I honestly didn't know why he continued to try and help me. I didn't even know if I could be helped.

His eyebrows suddenly furrowed as he let out a groan and shifted slightly. His eyes fluttered open and our gazes locked. Those stupid, beautiful forest green eyes.

The side of his mouth tugged up into a small smile as he looked at me.

"Good morning love." He says in a gruff morning voice, his hair slightly messed up. I liked it like that. He looked cute.

"Why don't you just give up?"

"Pardon?" Pan asked, confused. He suddenly looked a lot more awake, the smile now gone from his face.

"I don't get it... why don't you just give up on me?" I asked, looking over at him.

"Why would I do that...?"

"Because I'm a lost cause. I don't get it, I don't get you. Most people would've given up by now. So what's wrong with you? Why do you refuse to give up on me? No matter how many times I hurt you or push you away you always come back. Why don't you just give up?"

"I guess I could've asked you the same thing love."

"What do you mean?" I asked blankly.

"Before you left the island you did the exact same thing. No matter what I did you forgave me. You always came back. Never gave up. Heck, I killed somebody right in front of you and you bloody kissed me straight after. It's kinda funny isn't it?" Pan chuckled laying back down next to me.
