Eli and his little sister May grew up near the South part of the city with their parents Richard and Karen.
When Eli was around 7 or 8 years old, the Police went to their house.
It happened one evening while their whole family was about to have dinner.
They were all sitting together at the dinner table and they heard a knock on the front door.
Their Father got up from the table and went to the front door.
He opened the front door and saw Policemen standing in the doorway.
"Good evening, I'm Detective Waters. May we come in?" said Detective Waters with an English accent.
Their Father opened the door and the men walked inside.
Detective Waters said—
—"We're investigating a tip we received about a firearm being sold in the area and we unfortunately need to search your home along with the rest of the homes in this area."
Then Detective Waters' men got to work searching the house.
"We'll be quick. Mind if I sit down?" said Waters sitting down on their Father's chair.
Their Father stood next to the table waiting for Detective Waters' men to finish their search.
Detective Waters looked at all of the food on the dinner table with a keen eye and then looked back at their Father and said—
—"You look like you are about to have a little feast. Must have saved quite a lot for it. What is your occupation if you don't mind me asking?"
"Carpenter, sir." said their Father.
Waters raised his eyebrows and nodded.
After the men had finished searching, they told Waters that they had found nothing.
Then Waters looked at Eli and May's Father and said—
—"Are you hiding it somewhere?"
For a moment, nobody said anything, which made Waters speak up saying—
—"Let me be clear, we're not after you. We are after whoever is the person or persons selling guns. If you have information that could help us, then we will no longer bother you. But if we find out that you have been hiding something from us and rest assured we will, then the consequences of hiding that information will be dire.—"
"—So, now is the time to tell me." said Waters looking directly at their Father.
"No. There's nothing here." said their Father.
"All right." said Waters and looked at his Men.
Then his Men went and slammed Eli and May's Mother's head on the table.
